When Leonard Howellโs daughter is kidnapped, the only man he trusts to get her back is Eddie Flynn, a former con-artist turned hot-shot attorney. Flynn soon realizes that he is being played, and needs to know who is pulling the strings. Review: Deception, Twists, and a Hero I Canโt Get Enough Of! - Deception, Twists, and a Hero I Canโt Get Enough Of! Steve Cavanagh has done it again with The Liar! Each book in the Eddie Flynn series just proves why heโs quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. The courtroom drama is sharp, the pacing is relentless, and the twists are so clever that I didnโt see half of them coming. Eddie is at his absolute best hereโresourceful, determined, and just flawed enough to feel real. I also love how Agent Harper continues to play a strong role alongside him. Iโll admit, I was secretly hoping their partnership might tip into something romantic in this installment, but it didnโt happen. Maybe in the next book! Either way, their dynamic adds an extra layer of tension and fun. If you enjoy thrillers with whip-smart dialogue, tightly woven plots, and characters you canโt help but root for, this is another must-read in the series. Cavanagh never disappoints. โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ Review: Pants on Fire - My favorite con man turned lawyer, Eddie Flynn, is back in this third installment. Like the first two, this one starts with an almost impossible situation and somehow Eddie comes out on top. Heโs been retained by wealthy Leonard Howell. Lennyโs teen daughter Caroline has been kidnapped and he wants Eddieโs help to get her back. This one has a botched ransom exchange and of course a tense trial where all sorts of mayhem take place! There are FBI agents, some more trustworthy than others. Secrets and lies plus legal tricks make this one a tense but totally enjoyable read. Thereโs a fire and a dramatic rescue, Eddie can do it all! Thereโs also a side plot with Eddieโs mentor, Judge Harry, and an old case that is now under appeal. Steve Cavanagh writes courtroom drama so well that I was speeding through this one. I had a few things figured out but there was a final twist that made this even more of a winner for me.

Another great Eddie Flynn book but start with the first one if you are new to this series.
I recently discovered this series and promptly read them all because itโs that good! Make sure you start with the first book in the series The Defense because the author likes to bring back secondary characters for fun cameos. This book should be the third in the series. For some reason itโs not available here in the states so I had to order from the U.K. This book deals with a man accused of kidnapping and murdering his daughter. Like the rest of the series this book is an engaging court room novel with lots of outside action as Eddie tries to save his client. This novel introduces a couple of characters that will get lots of page time in the next book in the series Thirteen, which is an amazing read, so itโs worth reading this one first. This book has a lot of twists to it which makes for a great read and even though I saw them coming I still really enjoyed it. I am hooked on Eddie Flynn and really enjoying this series so makes sure you start with the first book before starting this series.

I love Eddie Flynn
The Eddie Flynn series by Steve Cavanaugh is simply wonderful. This particular book does not appear to have an e-book version, although most of the others do. (The other exception is The Accomplice.) Eddie Flynn is a no-holds barred defense attorney who used to be a professional conman, so his approach to things tends to be idiosyncratic, to say the least. His personal loyalty to friends and family is also noteworthy. I absolutely recommend this book, and all the other Eddie Flynn books.
