Great Pre-Carbon Filter Replacement
I purchased this filter to replace one of the pre-carbon filters for my reverse osmosis water filtration system. This type of filter was used for the second stage of the system, after the sediment filter. My water filtration system worked fine after the annual filter replacement I did and the taste and clarity of the water remained the same as before.The data sheet for this filter can be found on Omnipure's website under 'Data Sheets' since the description for this product does not list too much information. To briefly sum up, this is a 10 micron activated carbon filter which uses coconut shell carbon and is rated at 10,000 gallons at 0.75 GPM with >95% chlorine reduction. The filter cartridge has been tested by NSF under NSF Standard 42. When installing, it is recommended to flush any new cartridges for 10 minutes prior to use.
