Outstanding Dehydrated Mirepoix Sunstitute
VERY happy with this vegetable blend! The mix is like an enriched mirepoix, but none of the additions interferes with the classic mirepoix flavor. I used some as part of the base for a big pot of vegan mushroom-barley soup and it worked perfectly! The little chunks cooked down into the soup but unquestionably added flavor. The packets are pretty generous in actual quantity: dried veggies weigh very little so 7 oz is a surprisingly large amount. For storage I transferred the dried veggies to a mason jar and 2 packets filled a 1 quart/liter jar. That will keep me in soup for a whole winter! All in all very happy with this find. All the American dried blends seem to include tomatoes and/or capsicums which are largely incompatible with Eastern European soups/stews (except from Hungary and points south) so for borscht, krupnik, or similar soups this mix is ideal. I’ll continue buying this. Think of it as mirepoix-plus, useful in any recipe calling for mirepoix.

Handy delicious veg for lots of recipes and applications
Good to enhance many savory dishes. Convenient and very tasty when hydrated and cooked into recipes. Was recommended by a much admired chef, and all cuisines use these ingredients. This is just pantry ready. We like the way it enhances our recipes.

Consistent Quality, Nightshade and Legume Free Dried Vegetable Mix
I LOVE these vegetables. There are no nightshades or legumes which is incredibly hard to find in a dried vegetable mix. I use it most often in soup for my husband and myself. The package won't last long if you're feeding a family. The pieces are small and cook up fast so it's easy to use. They are consistent in flavor, color, smell and texture. While there's not a lot in the package and some might consider it to be expensive, if you're on a restricted diet you already know eating well can be pricey. The good quality makes it worth the price IMO.

Improvement in nutrition made easy
This is a sneaky way to get more veggies in meals, sprinkle some flakes in and it enhances the taste of most everything, plus it's so easy to use and store. I put some in applesauce cake, casseroles and meatloaf as I w wanted to see how it did (I did put the quantity in water so it wouldn't absorb the liquids in the foods.) I will keep doing so as I want to improve the family's nutrition.

I’ve tried several sources of dried vegetables and these are without doubt the best I’ve tried. Cooked in a soup or pasta sauce or casserole a doubt it anyone could tell they started as a dried product. I use them because I’m aware I can be lazy about using fresh vegetables and these are a way to add to my nutrition without the hassle of washing and peeling and chopping. In addition to cooking them for longer periods as above, I also stir them into those instant noodle pots with brightly-coloured lids (to which I’m mildly addicted) as a way of boosting their nutritional value because dried vegetables retain a surprisingly whopping amount of the nutrients they have when fresh. Obviously they don’t have as long to rehydrate that way compared to in soup, etc., but I still find the result perfectly palatable and have confidence that my my body is getting more of what it needs. Either way they make a great addition to my ‘lazy’ kitchen ingredients, along with things like jars of chopped ginger and good stock gels. Every one should keep them on hand for those more idle cooking days when you want to eat well but are too tired, or have simply not had time to shop for fresh veg.
