Will this hold water? I want to use it as a bird bath

There are no holes in the bowl. It will hold water well. I think it would work perfectly as a bird bath. It is lighter than the average Bowl Planter. The material is a rubber/plastic and is less dense than wood or ceramic. Less breaking too.

I am looking for a planter to make a DIY fire pit, is this bowl safe to use?

It is made up of polymer, stone powder and wood dust so I'd say NO.

I plan to fill this bowl with water for floating plants - will it hold water or will it drain out?

It will hold water but you may need to put silicon around the bottom plug stopper to keep it water sealed. It is a nice bowl. Heavy duty and seems to have maintained through the summer heat and now the colder fall weather.
