Ovando Fragrance Collection Candles

Really fragrant and long burning candle for the price. Very luxurious and makes me relaxed and happy every time I light it! I can smell throughout my entire house after about an hour or so of burning...Glad even my husband likes this and will def buy again! gorgeous!

Do not purchase! Received these items in such bad condition. The interior of the boxes is torn and tattered for both candles I bought. There were Dust on the exterior of both boxes. This is really bad for candles at this price and they were meant for gifting!

Diptyque, L'Artisan Parfumeur, and Dayna Decker candles are all in regular rotation in my home. If you are a candle snob, this one's on par with the rest of them in terms of fragrance composition, sillage, and quality. I'd classify Xochimilco as a clean, green, not-too-sweet, fruity-floral. If you're a Baies fan, this scent falls within that family.But who is Ovando? Well, She's one of the top floral designers in NYC known for artistic, sculptural, flower arrangements. I live right by the Ovando boutique and it's total antithesis of a "florist" -- more like an art gallery: Walk into the dark, black, mysterious parlor to see breathtakingly curved whorls of blooms and stems like abstract paintings. Minimalist yet lush, Ovando creations are a staple at high-profile events around the city for that reason--just do a quick Google image search. I'm so glad to see Ovando extend her brand into fragrance products. No other major floral designer has done that since Robert Isabell, whose perfumes are still highly regarded, though discontinued.Beautifully boxed, this candle makes a great housewarming gift to someone who appreciates high-end candles or is into flowers/floral design.Priced to compete with other luxury candles, this is not for the person who's into Bath & Body Works' or Yankee Candles; they may not appreciate it at first. But if you want open their world into the beautiful world of luxury candles, it's a great starting point.

I love candles, so I was glad to be able to order this one. I find it to be very elegant looking, with an absolutely fascinating scent.The candle looks great, with an elegant frosted glass exterior, subdued writing, and the white candle inside. You won't be ashamed to put this one out where everyone can see it - in fact, you will want to show it off. The burn time is listed at 55 hours, but you may not want to burn it because it makes such a nice decoration!The scent is really complex. It has a clean sort of base smell, but there also something layered on top of that which I think is some kind of mint. The combination results in an immediate smell followed up by the lingering second scent. I've never smelled anything quite like it. I think it is a great combination, but whatever else it is, this is a sophisticated scent.If you care about origins, the candle is "poured in the United States". I suspect that means the glass comes from somewhere else.Summary: Elegant to look at, with a mysterious scent - what a nice combination! Highly recommended.

Visually, this is one classy candle. It comes in a understated black gift box with recessed gold accents. The candle itself is a matte black cylinder that looks great anywhere you put it.The scent is pretty classy, too: an intriguing mix of floral and citrus. Sunshine for the nose.However, if you're looking for something subtle, be warned. This thing ASSERTS itself. You don't even need to light the wick. Its scent quickly permeated my reading room, even before I took the cover off!So if you're looking for a candle for outdoors or a large interior, or just prefer a strong scent, this may be an excellent choice.The beautiful package makes it a great gift for friends prepared to handle its high wattage.A transparent plastic cover seals the cylinder when needed, a useful touch for storage or travel.

There is a joy to a good candle that can make a room and a mood. The right size flame, the right smell, the right flicker... when they come together some primal human need is met. This is one of those candles. It's a great size for a centerpiece or focal candle at 4"high and 3.25" across. Not too big, not too small, just right. The flame is very clean burning and the scent is just the perfect amount that you know it's there and it wafts in and out of your awareness but never overpowers the room. The candle is contained in glass jar and the entire container glows when the candle is lit. The Ovando logo is on one side of the jar and can be displayed or concealed as is your preference. Overall this is a great candle!

This is a nice, simple, elegant candle with a fairly strong scent. I'm not sure how to describe the smell, but it is something of a cross between perfume and cologne.Amazon's page says to not burn longer than four hours at a time, but the box itself says to not burn it for more than two hours at a time. The box states 55 hours as the approximate total burning time (probably would depend a lot on whether you follow their instructions to trim the wick).I would recommend using this candle for romantic evenings when you'd like to add a nice perfume / cologne ambiance to the room.I do find it hard to justify $60 for a candle so I'm not sure how many people would actually buy this.

Wonderful packaging - perfect for gift giving! The box it comes in is so nice you wouldn't even have to wrap it up before giving it to someone! The matte black cylinder is very modern and the OVANDO name is subtly written in a pleasant font. Upon opening the box, the fragrance is pleasing but not overwhelming. I like a good candle that permeates a wonderful fragrance even before lighting it and this does do that but not like my favorite candle, Capri Blue, from Anthropologie. Even after lighting the candle, it still doesn't put off a noticeable fragrance. Nice packaging but not worth the price tag.
