Got this for my 9 yr old grandson. He loved it and began reading it right away. It was even up to date on the most current president. Had alot of good facts but not too wordy. Pictures were very colorful and nice. Good quality.

Great for kids & parents to sit & learn about USA Presidential history. Bough 1 for home & 1 for kids classroom. Teacher was thrilled. She uses it during class.

First - be careful about buying this used if you want the most recent president(s) to be included! The newest version does include Donald Trump, but as it was updated shortly after his election, there is no information about his accomplishments in office as there is for the other presidents. A synopsis is given about each president, accomplishments, and sometimes challenges they faced. The information is factual and unbiased. There are also sections for presidential homes and vehicles, as well as a map of which state they came from and a section on particularly influential or unique first ladies. I use this book as a homeschool supplement with my k5 and 2nd grader, learning about one President per week during the school year. As they get older, we will continue to use the book to review the presidents or as a general reference book. They have enjoyed this greatly combined with a magnetic puzzle of presidents, which gets one new piece each week.

This book offers a history of the life and times of each and every U.S. President, from George Washington to Joe Biden. The illustrations are contemporary for each presidency, as if to transport the reader into the very era in which each administration unfolded. Each entry is brief but complete. The book ends with portraits of some of the better known First Ladies as well. The book is published as a "Children's Visual Encyclopedia", but I have given copies to a few of my adult friends who found the volume helpful and, in fact, enjoyable. One friend, a doctor, told me that he knew very little about the presidents who were in office before his own birth, but that he had enjoyed seeing the development of U.S. history and culture through the pictorial account of the lives and experiences of all the men who served the country as presidents from the beginning of the republic until now. "I go back portions every day," he told me.

This was a gift for my 10 year old who is very interested in the United States and the Presidents. It is really well written and could defiantly be for any age group, including adults.

With the 2024 elections approaching, this is a great option for kids (in third grade and up) who are wanting to better understand what the President's role is and for parents who want to give kids context about past presidents and also important events that have shaped the USA. Ignore the negative reviews; this is a book of facts rather than a bunch of political opinions. Parents should be aware that assassinations and attempts are covered in this book (and there are some illustrations of them). This is a great book for starting conversations about the president's job and how each president shapes our country.

I got this book for an eight year old boy who has become fascinated by the United States presidents. When I saw this book, I thought it might be full of even more information than he’s already gotten, and I was correct! It is a beautifully bound book as well as well written, with great graphics! I especially appreciated that each first lady got a page of her own. I may very well purchase another copy for myself!

My children are homeschoolers. They are 8 and 11. Each week we complete an entry in our President's Journal, so our President's Visual Encyclopedia gets a lot of use. This current version is up to date through President Trump. I look forward to purchasing the new edition in a few years at the end of President-Elect Biden's term. Pros: Colorful pictures Accurate dates Informative sections as well as interesting sections about well-known first ladies (Michelle Obama, Barbara Bush...), national events and other facts Cons: Most presidents are missing a quote or two, that would be something that I would like to see added I would like to see more facts about presidential pets... Teddy Roosevelt had a menagerie of pets, Herbert Hoover had German Shepherds but he also had alligators. It helps children to connect to president a little better knowing they had pets.
