Cuts very well with accuracy and easy to use
This fork cutter works very well and makes good clean cuts with accuracy. It's also easy to use. I cut some 1" chrome / steel pipe with it to shorten some handles that came with a lift table.

Just follow the instructions. Start one way finish that way and it will glide thru pipe. Sturdy, great value easy to use

Small tool, big surprise
We were thoroughly impressed by this tool’s performance. It handled cutting our IKEA metal bed legs with remarkable ease and precision.

Worked just fine
Worked great on an aluminum 1 1/8 steerer tube. If not familiar with tubing cutter like this, 1 rotation direction is usually best, other can lead to small spirals off initial mark, so very lightly tighten up and test which is best direction - usually cutting wheel following pressure wheels, if that makes sense. Then to prevent metal squeeze up increasing diameter slightly, only increase tension very slightly each 2 rotations. I still had slight enough press-out that headset cap could not slide on. De-burrer on tool is not useful for anything of bike size, will need half-round file for inside, flat side for giving an angle on outside. 1 star off due to a noise on first use from cutting wheel rotation (not rough edges on stem), not sure what that means to longevity, but I'm not cutting forks often anyway (first time needed), so...

Perfect pipe cutter
I have noodle arms and the upper body strength of a toddler but I felt like a boss being able to quickly remove 10" from a too-long curtain rod, rather than packing everything back up and returning it and getting a shorter one. Get a pipe cutter now, before you need it! Also, keep it in the box when not in use and be careful how you pick it up--this buddy is SHARP.

Does the job but be ready to replace the cutting wheel.
I cut the aluminum steering tubes on two new forks for my bikes. The cutting wheel was already fairly chewed up after the first, which made cutting #2 a less than ideal proposition. The first cut was reasonably clean; the second required a lot of coaxing and then deburring. The cutting wheel was toast by that time. I wasn’t ultra-aggressive with the cuts, either, having used smaller tubing cutters many times for copper pipe. Thankfully there’s a spare wheel in the handle, but one would expect a bit more longevity from a tool like this.

GET IT! Cut my hardened steel handlebars!
This tool did the job that other pipe cutters wouldn’t do! The steel on these handlebars is heat treated very well and they don't cut easily. This tool allows you to get a perfectly even clean straight cut where it would be much harder using a saw or cut-off wheel. This thing stays in place where you clamp it which is very helpful when you’re cutting something expensive and want it to be precise and not look like a crack head hacked it off! If you’re looking for a tool specifically capable of cutting hardened steel handlebars or forks, this is what you need!!!

I made the mistake of not using this tool to cut the steerer tube of the Surly Midnight Special I am currently building. I cut the steerer tube with a hacksaw and a guide, using the bike stand method (I do not have a table with a vise). This did not give me a straight and clean cut. Since I also have this tube cutter, I decided to do a test cut on the leftover piece of the steerer tube I just cut with the hacksaw. It took me less than 5 minutes to get a clean, straight cut. So, if you are reading this, and you are building your first bike, or just want to cut a steel steerer tube, and, are just trying to decide what to use to cut it, do yourself a favour and get this cutter; I can’t believe all the videos I found on YouTube did not mention that you could use a tube cutter to cut a steel steerer tube. Just get it already.

Bought the blue to cut a steel golf shaft. Never cut a shaft before and afraid I might screw up. Well I needn't worry as this cutter was up for the job. Couldn't believe how easy it was. 3 turns was all it took. Perfect tool for my purpose.

As advertized. Heavy duty, scores the metal til it cuts off. The edges werent burred, but a little sharp but not enough like a knife. Get a deburring tool to pair well with this. Tested on 3/4 emt. (Steel conduit) I wish the end had a hex head so you can tighten in close to surface areas
