As soon as we read it one time our 3 and 4 year old recently adopted kids fell in love with it. Especially if you are a mixed race family like ours, this book talks about how the adopted baby bear has different color fur than his mom, PERFECT!!!! We call our kids our "wishes come true" now and they will tell people about how they are "our wish come true". Ms. Richmond hit the nail on the head with this book. The illustrations are beautiful and soft and fit the soft and loving tone of the story. We have bought several copies of this book for other adoptive parents and for our children's psychiatrist to give to her clients.
