KitchenAid 2-Slice Toaster with Manual Lift Lever, KMT2115, Contour Silver

KitchenAid is a great appliances company so when they bought any of their products you expected quality, and this one is not the exception; elegant, efficient and practical! Its a must have if you love to have a good cup of tea every day!

Checks almost all the boxes. I'd take 1/2 a star off for not having a feature almost no toaster has, except the Breville Bit More Toaster, (that I know of), and that's where you can manually lift the lever up while it's toasting, and it doesn't stop the toasting action, (doesn't pop up the toaster trays), so you can just take a quick peek to see if the toast is done. Problem is, though it toasts pretty well on both sides, the inner side is always a bit darker. Not a huge deal breaker, but I also found this KitchenAid toasted quicker and shockingly the same on both sides of the toast. PROS: * Toasts the same on both sides. The only other toasters I tested that did this were the "Long Slot" toasters where you put in two pieces of bread side by side in the same slot. Note: I found the Martha Stewart 2 Slice Long Slice Toaster to be the best, but it lacks a Bagel, Reheat, or Frozen button, like this KitchenAid has. * Has Bagel, Reheat, and Frozen buttons, (as well as Cancel, of course). * Toasts two pieces of bread in roughly 3 minutes, to a medium brown, on number 3. * Mid-tier priced at $75. OK, a little pricey, but worth it. The Breville was $109 as of this review. Other units I tested, like the Martha Stewart mentioned about, were in the $35-50 range. CONS: * Doesn't have the "take a look" feature the Breville Bit More Toaster has. For the Record, I did hours of research and bought and tested these: * Elite Gourmet ECT3200 2-Slice, 1 Long Slot * Breville - the Bit More 2-Slice Extra-Wide and Deep Slot Toaster, BTA720XL * Elite Gourmet ECT2517G SLIMTOAST™ 2-Slice, Long Slot Toaster, * Martha Stewart 2 Slice Long Slot Toaster * Breville BTA820XL Die-Cast Smart Toaster, Waiting on the BUYDEEM DT730 Motorized Toaster, which looks like a real contender, in that it automatically lowers and raises the toast - and when it raises it, it's nice and high so it's very easy to pull out the small things you like to toast. I will update this review if it wins out over this excellent KitchenAid.

Some of the reviews of this toaster had me a bit worried, but I've had my KitchenAid now for a few months and it's been perfect. I use it multiple times a week, often on bagels. The bagel function is great, the doneness dial is easy to use, and I haven't had a single issue. It's even cute in a retro way.

The toaster feels very solid and looks good on the counter. Its actual toasting ability is not as good. It’s always darker on one side, and you dare not use settings above a 1 or it will burn. And why does it beep when it’s done?? The ka-CHUNK noise of the toast popping up is perfectly sufficient. Not fond of bagels and haven’t tried it for that.

I love that it toasts evenly, looks clean- no smudging on the finish. The one negative is it beeps when done. Annoys my husband that it’s not quiet. But it works great!

I am an experienced user and technician, and this toaster was purchased new. After some time, it developed a clear internal failure. When the lever is pushed down, the heating elements turn on, but the lever does not latch immediately and the Cancel light does not come on. You must hold the lever down for 8-15 seconds before the solenoid finally engages. The delay increases over time. I fully disassembled the unit and performed a complete internal cleaning, including the lever rails, contacts, and solenoid area. Everything is clean and mechanically sound. This confirms the issue is not dirt or misuse, but a weakening internal component (solenoid / control circuit). The faulty part is not user-serviceable and replacement parts are not available. This appears to be a design or quality issue rather than normal / light wear. For the price and the KitchenAid brand name, this level of reliability is unacceptable. I do not recommend this model at all.

I was looking for a toaster and finally found the perfect one for me. This is a sturdy well made toaster that will last,not flimsy and it will not disappoint you. I recommend this toaster ,well worth it.

After trying two other well-known brand toasters and returning them because of burnt edges and light middles, we found this KichenAid toaster. It works very well, is sturdy and pretty!

I felt like I didn't need a toaster with a digital screen lol, this toaster has all the features you need. Have used it for a bit now and the toast is always evenly toasted, the bagel function works well too. Crumb tray ejects with a push button which is nice and it stays put if you store the toaster away and bring it out sometimes. Easy enough to clean.

Compré este tostador KitchenAid y la verdad superó mis expectativas. Además de ser muy bonito y tener un diseño elegante, se nota que está fabricado con materiales de muy buena calidad; incluso pesa, lo que le da una sensación de ser un producto resistente y bien construido. El tostado es uniforme tanto para pan de caja como para bagels, que era algo importante para mí. Otra característica que me encantó es que emite un sonido al terminar el ciclo, así sabes exactamente cuándo está listo sin tener que estar pendiente. Considero que tiene una excelente relación calidad-precio. Sin duda, volvería a comprarlo y lo recomiendo a quienes buscan un tostador de buena calidad, funcional y con un diseño atractivo.
