Release pressure to protect your teeth and gums. Review: As described - This is a replacement for one I lost. This is now updated & It now has a whitening function. Not sure why some are £300!! This does the job perfectly well. Review: Self destructed after 3 months - When new this toothbrush worked well. However, after 3 months of normal daily use the top bearing where the drive spindle comes out of the handle started to become loose. After a further week the bearing had self-desctructed and the toothbrush was unusable. A major brand produce that does not last more than 3 months of normal use is unacceptable. AVOID. I have replaced it with a Chinese sonic toothbrush for less than 1/6th the price. ## Features - Philips 4500 series HX6839/28 electric toothbrush Adult Sonic toothbrush White - 8710103846475 - HX6839/28 - Electric Toothbrushes ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B07CRTWT6X | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Age range (description) | Adult | | Best Sellers Rank | 196,070 in Health & Personal Care ( See Top 100 in Health & Personal Care ) 518 in Sonic Toothbrushes | | Brand | PHILIPS | | Brand Name | PHILIPS | | Bristle Material | Nylon | | Colour | White | | Country Of Origin | China | | Customer Reviews | 4.3 out of 5 stars 19,893 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 08710103846475 | | Handle Material | Silicone | | Included Components | Charger, Travel Case | | Item Dimensions | 17.3 x 6.5 x 23.7 centimetres | | Item Firmness Description | Medium | | Item Weight | 12.73 Ounces | | Item firmness description | Medium | | Manufacturer | Philips | | Manufacturer Part Number | HX6839/28 | | Material Features | Sustainable | | Model Name | Philips Sonicare Protectiveclean 4500 Elektrische Zahnbürste HX683 | | Model Number | HX6839/28 | | Mount Motion | Pulsate | | Number of Items | 2 | | Number of Pieces | 1 | | Number of settings | 2 | | Operation Mode | Automatic | | Other Special Features of the Product | Battery Powered | | Package Type Name | Box | | Power Source | Battery Powered | | Power source | Battery Powered | | Reusability | Reusable | | Special feature | Battery Powered | | Target Audience | Unisex-Adults | | Theme | Neutral | | Toothbrush Head Shape | U-Shaped | | Unit Count | 1 count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** PHILIPS - **Age range (description):** Adult - **Special feature:** Battery Powered - **Power source:** Battery Powered - **Item firmness description:** Medium - **Colour:** White - **Material feature:** Sustainable - **Number of items:** 2 - **Toothbrush Head Shape:** U-Shaped - **Unit count:** 1 count ## Images ![Philips 4500 series HX6839/28 electric toothbrush - Outdated Product - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61RUYMNfurL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color, Size** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ As described *by A***R on 17 November 2022* This is a replacement for one I lost. This is now updated & It now has a whitening function. Not sure why some are £300!! This does the job perfectly well. ### ⭐ Self destructed after 3 months *by T***S on 16 July 2023* When new this toothbrush worked well. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Great while it worked *by N***E on 27 July 2023* Bought on 1st January. The toothbrush was great and certainly cleaned teeth well. Sadly it has developed a problem within 7 months (27 July at time of writing) and is now not working properly and making a strange noise. The prong which the brush head sits on seems to have become lose and consequently the brush head is not oscillating correctly. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/221034382-philips-4500-series-hx6839-28-electric-toothbrush-outdated-product](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/221034382-philips-4500-series-hx6839-28-electric-toothbrush-outdated-product) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-07*
