Can I use this computer for everyday tasks

It’s perfect for everyday tasks. The Windows software makes it very easy to set up calendars, reminders, check email, etc.. The Surface Book is nice because you can do everything a normal laptop can do at your desk or curl up on the couch with the tablet half. You won’t be disappointed by the ease of use.

According to the microsoft site, the 15" surface laptop 3 has an amd ryzen chip, not intel. what's the story here?

According to Microsoft, all models of the Surface Book 3 contain an Intel Iris Plus graphics chip in the display module. In addition, either an NVIDIA GeForce GTX or NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 resides in the keyboard module, depending on the model. On the 13.5" models, only the GTX 1650 with 4GB of GDDR5 graphics RAM is offered. On the 15" models, only the GTX 1660 Ti or Quadro RTX 3000 are offered, depending on price-point. Both come with 6GB of GDDR6 graphics RAM. System software selects which graphics card to use, depending on various requirements of the graphics app being used. This selection can be assigned by the user for specific apps. Because of this feature for power-saving or detatched-display use, the graphics card being reported may differ, depending on which app is running.

Dear Inessa, Surface Book does not come with mobile data support. You will need a Surface Pro X or older versions of Surface Pro for that. Hope this helps
