Laguiole knife with Blond Horn handle and brass bolsters direct from France

I am very happy with this example of a Laguiole knife. The build quality is very good in all the ways that really matter and it has all the famous design motifs of the French icon. The brass and bone handles are a beautiful combination. Sandvik 12C27 is an excellent choice of steel for this knife and the polished and engraved blade is a beauty. While Actiforge don't manufacture in the town of Laguiole, they are 100% true to the traditions of this historic knife and as a collector, I appreciate that. Solid recommendation if you want a more affordable version of a classic.

A beautiful well made knife

Absolutely beautiful! Well made and my husband loves it.

I was given one of these knives, pretty much exactly the one shown, by my Sister-in-law. I've carried it around for the last seven years and it looks just as good now as it did when I got it. It's a simple but sturdy design, built to last. It also holds an edge like no ones business. If you're used to more modern stainless steel knives, you should know that this kind of knife will tarnish, and will require a bit more maintenance. If you take care of it, it will last a lifetime, and you can pass it down to your heirs. It's well worth the price.

This knife is one of the best knives I have ever owned - at 61 that is saying a lot- the quality is beyond superb. And you did a beautiful job putting my name on the blade !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
