As several others have written in their review...I did realize this lampshade required assembly...but it's my fault for not reading reviews prior to purchase. For the price the lampshade is of adequate quality for the the lamp I needed it for. I LOVE the black/gold combination and it gives a nice warm glow when lit. The assembly is not difficult and I did watch the video prior to attempting and found it helpful...yes, it moves quickly so i kept pausing it but all in all it took me about 10 minutes to get it all together. Lampshades are ridiculously expensive and this one is of decent quality for the price...not sure if it is fabric? but it is a good buy for the price. My only complaint....as others have mentioned as well...is that the metal piece on the top of the lamp that goes on the harp is SO thick I could barely get a finial to attach and I tried several that I had...may have to just find a nut to fit more securely....also, another reviewer mentioned the white hardware on the black/gold lamp was annoying so she spray painted it gold...i may do something along those lines as it is quite noticeable but for now it works. Would definitely buy more of these shades for the quality and price point....plus it was kind of a fun project to put together!!

First of all, I can understand why they would want to save money by shipping these lampshades unassembled. But in exchange for their increased profits, it better be easy to assemble. And it’s not.The tension in the rim is so great that it is really hard to keep the thing together and stop it from popping apart while you are trying to wrap the canvas surround it. Finally, the glue will not hold. Even if you use that plastic thingy they sent, I am getting sick and tired of putting edges of lampshade back together over and over again because the adhesive strip won’t hold.When it pops apart, you try and reassemble the whole thing together again and therebthe rim goes popping out of the joint again. If it was working, then it would be great, but it doesn’t.They need to go ahead and eat the cost of manufacturing this thing completely —then—shipping it to people so we don’t have to put the dang thing together every other day. Useless. For the effort I put into this stupid lampshade on a daily basis, they ought to be paying me… With benefits!

I absolutely love this Wellmet 18x18x12 drum-style lampshade! Assembly was a breeze, and it completely transformed my lamp from having an old-fashioned look to a fresh, boho chic style. The quality of the material is fantastic, and it diffuses the light beautifully, creating a warm, cozy glow in the room. I needed 2 large drum shades for some vintage lamps at work. I have purchased a lot of shades before in specialty shapes and sizes, so I know that they are crazy expensive and shipping them is always an unknown because of how fragile they can be. I was very skeptical of these unassembled shades but it turns out that it's actually ingenious for cost savings and keeping them from damage. They were easy to assemble and my only complaint about that is that they are a bit flimsier than standard shades because of the smaller pieces you have to put together. But that's not much of an issue if you don't jostle them.My only major problem with them is that the top piece where a spider harp's threaded post connects with the threaded nut or finial is thicker than a standard shade which makes it harder to attach the nut or finial, perhaps impossible if the threads on the nut or finial are even a little recessed.Overall extremely pleased and I would order them again.

It was fun to put together! I did not realize it required assembly when I purchased it. Almost decided to return it. Good directions. Came with extra pieces. Easy Peasy, and turned out great.

Nice lampshade but I just about lost my religion putting it together. For the price, it should come assembled or mostly assembled. The "zipper" holding the rings im place is tough to push them into and the rings kept popping out the more "progress" I made. So frustrating!

Very beautiful and exactly as described. High quality product with perfect detail and finish.

A lot is missing to assemble this piece. I was given three rods and some random screws. No instructions. This was worst than an escape room. See picture.
