SportSafe Waterproof Skin Marking Pen - Carbon Black

The Pen arrived totally empty. The ink chamber is clear and it looked like there may have been some ink in it at some point but not much. A tiny bit of ink was in the box but I doubt it was ever sufficiently filled.One good thing that came about was I purchased the pen to write the different event numbers on my 7 year old daughter's arm for a swim meat. Since the pen didn't work I was forced to use a highly toxic felt pen which caused extra fingers and toes to sprout. With all the extra surface area on my daughter's hands and feet she hauled a** through the water!

This item doesn't work as intended. The chisel tip makes it difficult to draw anything precise. The ink runs out quickly and needs to be replenished every 10 seconds by twisting the knob, which doesn't do anything for 10 seconds of twisting, after which lots of ink floods out and makes a mess all over the tip. On the occasion that the ink does come immediately, it's in the center of the tip, so unless you're holding it in your fist then it's useless. The ink itself smears easily, rubs off with sweat, and rinses off with minimal amounts of water. In weather below 55 degrees or so, the ink won't stick in the first place and looks very blotchy on your skin.

Hope you plan to only use this once when you get it, because there's really only 1/4 of a tube... it looks full at first, but once you get it to the point that it comes out the felt tip there's only about 1/4 of the tube full. Plus, even with the lid on the tip dried out and i couldn't use what was left in the tube anyway. It says it's safe for the skin, but when I put it under my eyes it made my eyes burn (it wasn't THAT close to my eyes either, more like on my cheeks). I do not recommend this - spend the extra money to get something better.

HATE HATE HATE the new pen design. There is literally only a handful of times you can use this before the ink runs out. It takes a LOT of turns to even get the ink flowing for the first use, and at that point there is only enough ink for a few uses. Also, there is no way that this can be used to write anything precise because the ink flows into a blob on the tip of the pen...it doesn't continuously flow like you would expect a pen or marker to. I used to purchase this product in the original pen design a lot and have never been this disappointed in a product refresh before. The company should be ashamed to pass this off as a quality product and charge the same price for this poor quality. Very disappointed.

marker claims to be waterproof for different sporting activities....roller derby included. this marker rubbed right off the arm of a very sweaty player in no time at all. followed directions for use, and it was a bust.

Ordered two of these the second time around. One of them was defective and cannot be used. When I went to order a replacement, the price of the black marker has more than doubled. Probably won't use again.

My team uses this for roller derby numbers. It seems to stay on longer than sharpie, and it's much easier to write on sweaty skin. It doesn't work for everyone but it's an improvement.
