Laugh out loud hilarious!
Every girl wants to fall in love, but not as much as Haruna Nagashima. Haruna, loves to read her comics, and thinks that every girl is suppose to suddenly have a boyfriend when they enter high school; however, Haruna is doing it all wrong!Dressed in unflattering outfits she tries her hardest to get hit on while out and about, only to go home defeated. While walking she falls, and like Cinderella loses her shoe. Enter Yoh; a popular high school student who hands her, her shoe. This is one of the best series I've picked up in a while. It's almost as good as Love*Com. Be prepared to laugh out loud at the efforts poor Haruna makes in order to get a boyfriend.

New Manga: High School Debut
This manga is new to the US (came out in 2003 in Japan) and is brought to you by Viz. This is the story of Haruna a high school freshman who after being a softball "jock" in Junior High, wants to find love in High School. Her obsession is driven by delusions created after reading too many shoujo mangas (let this be a lesson to us all). After miserable failure at "self study," Haruna's friend suggests that she find a love coach. Haruna does just that, seeking the services of the popular but wary, Yoh, a boy that has lived on the disadvantageous side of being a bishonen. Yoh's only condition for his help is that they must not complicate the relationship with love -- although you can tell he doesn't really mean it. And so this version of "Pygmalion" begins ... will Yoh expose Haruna's true beauty to herself and others? (Of course he will). Has Yoh already fallen in love with Haruna? (Of course he has). Oh, but here's the rub: Haruna is already in love with somebody else. How will this story continue? Will Yoh end up with the girl in the end? Well, a quick check of YesAsia, says at 10-volumes, and still going, "not any time soon." I guess we'll have to see if the mangaka can keep up the momentum, but overall it's a good start.

Good condition :)
There was only pen marks on the first 2 pages but other than that it was good for a used book ! :)

High School Debut
High School Debut is one of the funniest shojo mangas that I have ever read. Although it is only the first volume, it is well written and provides the reader with plenty of laughs. I expect great things from this series as it progresses.

Luv This!
I am very picky when it comes to manga, especially the drawing style and if the story is interesting. This book is both! :-)

I'm pretty pumped to see where this series go!
Whoa! This was a lot more relatable than I expected it to be! I mean I figured it would be just a fun story where I would laugh, but Haruna reminds me A LOT of myself when I was a freshman in high school. No, I definitely didn't have a coach or read manga at the time, but her wanting to get a boyfriend and be attractive was who I remember being. I think it helps too that Haruna is a wonderful main character to follow. Haruna's personality absolutely shines on page and her drive to really give her all made me feel more empathetic (compassionate?) towards her because again, super relatable in trying to give your all and it still not feeling it's enough. Plus, because of her personality, it didn't make me feel I was silly or dumb for having such similar thoughts about love too when I was in high school.I do like Yoh! While I feel I wouldn't like him a lot in real life (LOL), he does make a really compelling manga hero and excited to see his growth. (I could imagine his edges will be smoothened out at one point and definitely shipping him and Haruna!) It's refreshing to not have an instant romance (or even an inkling of!) but not an enemies-to-lovers either. They genuinely do have a coach and mentee kind of relationship, which I think is a first for me in reading.I LOVEDDDDD Fumi! Massive spoilers with him so I can't say anything, but he is ADORABLE!Something else that I think makes this a very strong opening series is that while Yoh may be harsh in his critics, I think the things he says (for the most part because I definitely frowned and did NOT like when he told Haruna not to workout anymore) is really helpful for high school girls. I feel he's almost giving "beauty advice," but it goes much deeper because this isn't about makeup. Yes, there is talk of clothing, but I feel a lot of what he shares is embracing who she (Haruna) is and not trying to be glamorized (but still look nice). The conversation they had about what kind of guys Haruna likes was VERY good and really hit the nail on the head for past high school me. That was excellent stuff he tells her!Overall, I'm pretty pumped to see where this series go! I'm liking the message, Haruna's bright personality, and first love.

Very adorable and fun!
This manga's main plot is about a girl who's sole goal in her first year in high school is to find a boyfriend and she enlists a coach to help her. First off, the artstyle is gorgeous it reminds me so much of the Peach Girl artstyle which is beautiful. There were also moments that I laughed out loud. I loved the characters and enjoyed the plot although predictable it was really fun. Trigger warning for one scene of abuse.Because of these points I have to give this volume of manga a 4 out of 5 stars

Good Story
The book arrived on the delivery estimation date and the story itself is the first anime book I've read, you can predict what will happen but I really did enjoy it.
