- The Gold Standard for No-Nonsense Reheating & Defrosting
If you are looking for a microwave that actually does its job without any unnecessary fluff, the Panasonic 20L Solo (NN-ST26JMFDG) is the one to get. I spent a lot of time comparing this against LG and IFB, and honestly, for the price, this is the smartest buy. Why I chose this over the others: * Reliable Performance: Unlike some cheaper brands, the heating here is incredibly even. You don't get those 'cold spots' in your food. * Best-in-Class Defrosting: Panasonic knows what they're doing with their magnetrons. Defrosting meat or frozen snacks is gentle and doesn't 'cook' the edges. * Build Quality: It feels solid. The touch membrane is responsive, and the silver finish looks much more premium on the countertop than basic black plastic models. * Compact but Spacious: It easily fits a full-sized dinner plate (up to 10 inches) despite having a small footprint that doesn't hog the entire counter. The Pros: * 51 Auto Menus: Great if you occasionally want to do more than just reheat. * Easy to Clean: The interior wipes down very easily. * Energy Efficient: It doesn't seem to draw excessive power for simple tasks. The Cons: * The power cord is standard length (~1m), so make sure your socket is nearby. * As with all solo microwaves, it won't 'brown' your food (get an OTG or Convection if you want that). Verdict: For under ₹6,000, you are getting professional-grade tech from the brand that basically pioneered microwaves. It’s perfect for families who need a reliable machine for daily reheating and quick defrosting. Skip the 'budget' brands and go for this—it’s worth the extra few hundred rupees for the peace of mind.

Best for busy professionals, small kitchens, bachelors/couples/small families too
As a busy professional managing both a full-time job and studies, this microwave has been an excellent addition to my kitchen. While I haven’t explored its cooking functionalities yet, its heating and auto-reheat features have been perfect for my needs. It’s compact, fits perfectly in my small kitchen, and is very easy to clean. I haven’t experienced any issues with overheating, and overall, I’m very satisfied with its performance. The packaging was impeccable, and the delivery was on time, which I really appreciated. One note for new buyers: the user manual is placed inside the oven. As this is my first microwave, I wasn’t aware of that and initially had to rely on YouTube tutorials to figure out how to open the door. Once I did, I found the manual, which cleared up all my questions. I bought this during a sale at a fantastic price, and it’s been a great value. If you’re a bachelor or someone looking for an easy-to-use, reliable appliance for simple heating and reheating, I highly recommend this microwave!

Review
The Panasonic is a reliable and efficient countertop microwave that offers a good balance of features and value. With its 1.3 cubic foot capacityof power, it's suitable for most household needs. Pros: Quick and even heating User-friendly control panel with clear display Compact design fits well in most kitchens Multiple power levels for versatile cooking Keep Warm feature maintains food temperature Cons: Slightly noisy operation Interior light could be brighter Limited advanced cooking functions compared to pricier models The microwave's Inverter Technology ensures consistent cooking power, resulting in more evenly heated food. The touch-button controls are intuitive, making it easy to operate. While it lacks some high-end features like convection cooking, it excels at basic microwave tasks. For its price point, the Panasonic offers good value and reliability. It's an excellent choice for those seeking a straightforward, efficient microwave for everyday use. Overall rating: 4.2/5
