Sturdy, works great
I've had one for several years, and just bought another one (for a different place). It works great. The magnets keep it firmly in place, and it does exactly what it's supposed to do.

I was skeptical but it works great!
EDITED: Okay, I’ve had this for a while now, and though it’s flimsy and seems overpriced, it’s done exactly what I wanted it to do, without issue, and is holding up great. I actually bought a second one recently for my husband’s office, so I guess it’s actually worth the cost.ORIGINAL REVIEW:It gets the job done, but it’s literally made out of the kind of flimsy plastic that other things are packaged in…you know, the stuff that is one step up from cellophane. I could buy disposable paint trays at the dollar store that are more durable. Definitely not $20 worth of plastic. Go for something a little more rigid.

Perfect for helping cool the baby's room!
A common problem that we all have, is the placement of air vents. They often prohibit where we can put furniture in a room. This was the ideal solution for putting our crib in the spot that we wanted. Now the air doesn't collect under the bed, but comes out and is able to go into the rest of the room.Although the plastic is kind of flimsy, it is still well-made. But, since it supposed to go under furniture, it really shouldn't be getting broken. I like the fact that it extends, so you can have it as large or a small as you would like. This would be good for under a small table, or put it under the bed like we did.

It works..but probably wouldn’t buy again.
Mine came missing a magnet and it is extremely flimsy. I kept reading that, and I really didn’t quite understand it until I received it. BUT...if you are putting this under a piece of furniture, then it should be fine. At least in my case...I purchased this for underneath my couch so we aren’t blocking the vent. I waited a few weeks so I could really test it out and it DOES work! It has managed to stay in place with the one magnet lol, and although you’d think the flimsiness of the plastic would render this item completely useless, it doesn’t at all. It works extremely well and the air can be felt several feet away. I’m pleasantly surprised. All of that being said, do I think it’s WORTH the $$? Not really, especially when so many people are complaining of their items arriving with missing pieces. I do think something like this could easily be made at home with a little creativity.

Perfect!
We decided to use a lovely room in our new house as a small family room that was intended as an office. It offers a great view, built-in bookshelves and enough room for a few pieces of comfortable furniture, but it required putting a rather large media cabinet in a spot that covered a floor AC vent - the only vent in the room. This deflector magnets snap right on to the existing vent and extends out to front of cabinet. The room stays cool and the problem is solved. The item includes adhesive dots between the pieces if you wish to stabilize once you’ve determined how long you wish to extend it, but we have found we didn’t need to use them. It’s a simple, but clever and inexpensive solution to a common problem.

Will not melt; 1" clearance over carpet
I was worried because a couple of reviews said the plastic melted. Mine did not. I live in the mid-west, and my heater puts out a lot of heat & runs almost non-stop in the colder snaps. It is pretty thin plastic--like anti-theft packaging. So it is NOT of the thickness of normal vent deflectors. That being said, nothing else I could find accomplishes what this product is for....deflecting heat or a/c past furniture when you must place the furniture directly over a vent. It is very wide, and extends almost a foot--looks cheap& flimsy--but who cares???it's under your furniture!! It does the job it is supposed to do...pushes air out past your blocking furniture.

The best $20 I have ever spent
I can't say enough good things about this piece of plastic.Let's be real, here. This isn't high tech. You have a vent in a bad location. You want the air redirected somewhere else. There are dozens of other one-size-fits-all products on the market that are 3 or 4 inches high and do a mediocre attempt at slightly adjusting airflow from a vent. I have some of them on other vents in my house. They sometimes work. But this thing? It's magic. At least for me. My living room is west-facing with a large window which means afternoons turn it into a greenhouse. There are two vents in the room which barely keep up. And of course one of the vents is in the corner underneath my entertainment center/TV. So it's really just one vent which doesn't quite keep up.Until now. Oh, my. I'd at least been thinking my electronics were staying cool with all the wasted cold air blown under them, but this marvelous piece of plastic is just the right height (less than 2 inches) and length (expandable to exactly the width of my entertainment center) to blow the air right out into where people, and not electronics, can enjoy the wonderful cool air from the A/C system. The room temperature is 2 degrees lower in the afternoons. It's magic. Or science. Or.... well, really, it's a piece of plastic but it's the RIGHT piece of plastic for the RIGHT job.If you have a vent that you need to redirect the air a foot or two away from its location, you want this. You have no reason NOT to buy this.
