Great for going beyond what's on the board
The micro:bit is great and has a load of functionality built in, but if you want to add more sensors then the pitch of the edge connector, beyond 0, 1 & 2 is so fine that crocodile clips, etc. don't work so well. So, you need some kind of breakout. What's great with this is that you get a full set of screw terminals for all i/o pins, but also, you get a separate +3V, GND and i/o connector for each pin (I've found that to be really useful as it keeps wiring obvious without tracing wires all over the place). If you want to go beyond the on-board and want to try stuff out, this is really useful.

NOT Servo Friendly
This breakout board provides the Micro:Bit signals on rows of colored pins, but sadly the rows are not configured to allow direct connection of servo motors. You'll need to make wired connections to the screw terminals. A typical servo has three wires:Orange -- ControlRed -- +VBrown -- GroundThis board has pins in this order:Red -- +3.3VBlack -- GroundYellow -- Pin (ControlI won't rewire my servo connections to match those on this board. Instead I'll buy a board that has the pins in the proper order.
