I love this scoop! It is so well made, of high quality stainless steel.I bought the #14 to make cupcakes. It takes me forever to use a spoon to get cupcake batter into the muffin cups, filling the papers exactly the same. And sometimes the recipes are very specific in how full they have to be - 1/2 or 2/3 depending on the recipe. A spoon is too small and the batter would mound differently with every try. So it would take me forever to get the batter in and equally divided. I wanted a scoop that would help me measure as well as get all the batter in the cup in one scoop. This one does the trick. The volume is 10 teaspoons. There are 3 tsp in every tablespoon, so this is 3 tablespoons plus one teaspoon. If you are baking muffins or cupcakes, you can determine how full you need the scoop to be to fill the cups as high as you need, and then it makes short work of filling your pan. Hurray! No more crispy, mushroom topped overfilled cupcakes! No more cupcakes that are too short! Finally my entire batch comes out exactly the same, AND it takes no time at all!A note - any sticky batter will stick to any scoop. I prefer to avoid chemicals whenever possible, so I do not use non stick silicone spray on my scoop. But if you are using really sticky batter, that is an option. Otherwise, some recipes may require a little help from your finger to get it out of the scoop. So far, it has worked beautifully with my favorite cupcake recipes.For ice-cream, this does not have any built in heater or anti freeze. To easily scoop ice cream, either leave the tub out for a few minutes, or dip the scoop in a cup of hot water. I rather like the simplicity of the design. And there are no chemicals inside to leak.

I'm a "seasoned citizen" with arthritis. This scoop is a great size and weight for me to portion out my homemade dogfood. (Old dog with few teeth etc) I also use this for baking.I wonder if this would not be good for hard ice cream.Received on time and follow up "thank you" email. '

Would be suitable for use with only very soft food product. First attempt to use was on ice cream that wasn't even very hard, and the inner scraper (inside the scoop) bent and broke. Returned. The company was very nice and contacted me, which I appreciated, but the return was already in process. Otherwise, I probably would have asked for them to send another, per the "lifetime guarantee" noted - which they could have done anyway, but they didn't offer to do so when they called.

Wonderful, I use it for scooping cookie dough, I didn't realize they where going to be giant cookies which was just fine. They make releasing the dough from the scoop very easy without a mess or sticking to the scoop. I purchased the scoop for the purpose of baking and I'm more than pleased. I didn't need an ice cream scoop because I already had one that couldn't hold a candle to this one.

fantastic quality. i use the scoop when making muffins to transfer batter into the muffin tins. i love that the inside moving piece sweeps all the way around the scoop (my last one only did half for some reason - different brand). i also love the solid all metal construction. thank you!

I just got this and love it so far! The quality seems to be outstanding and it is very easy to use. Strangely enough, I will only be using it for ice cream on very rare occasions but I am VERY excited to use it for portions/servings! It washes well and I am so glad I bought this scoop!

I was hoping to use this scoop for cookie dough, but it broke within the first couple of scoops. The welding broke and I will be returning it.5/30/18 UPDATE. The company has replaced my scoop and performed wonderfully. I highly recommend this company as they truly care about there product and their customers
