Solid rod - installation not as easy as others.
Very nice - matches the curve of my Kohler expanse tub nicely. Fit into my ~58-59" space easily. Can probably be compressed down 8-10 more inches and can extend out a bit further too. Seems pretty heavy duty. Wouldn't go hanging on it, but not flimsy and is well anchored into wall. One thing to note is that unlike other curtain rods I've used like this, this is all one piece. The flanges cannot be removed since they are captured onto the rod by the metal plates that you screw through to support the rod.Not a big deal - and it probably is the reason it's so sturdy. Other rods I've used had a dedicated piece to install into the wall. Then you attach the rod to that piece. I had my contractor install this as part of the bathroom remodel - if I was to do it myself I would need an extra pair of hands to help support the rod during install because it is one integrated piece, so DIY installation is not the greatest with this.Another thing to consider because of this is that certain shower curtain rings cannot be installed onto this (or would be very difficult to install since you can't slide them on from one end of the rod. We actually had to return some curtain rings (the metal ones that look teardrops kind of) because we would have to stretch them open too wide and possible scratch up the chrome finish on the rod in the process). Instead we went with the Moen rings that look like a sine wave and just drop onto the rod.So far so good with rust. It's still shiny and new looking after about a month of many hot showers. Will update in the future if we see anything otherwise...

Does what it's supposed to.
I like to try to write helpful reviews but this is a really simple one. This is exactly what it says it is and does what it's supposed to do, nothing more, and nothing less.

Adds extra space in my tiny rental master bathroom
We read reviews ahead, so my boyfriend bought the needed hardware. He said it was a bit of a pain to install, but realized after installing one side that there is a pin that releases the shower rail and making it easier to screw in the mounting bracket with the rail removed. We've had it up for a few months now, and it is very sturdy. It adds a ton of room to our narrow shower in our tiny bathroom. No corrosion seen yet. We only have a tiny bathroom window for ventilation, so it stays damp in there. I will update if there are any corrosion issues in the future.

Nice looking, difficult to install
The product looks good and is of high quality, but installation is very difficult and the instructions are not helpful. Consider the difficulty in installing before buying.

Nice, quality shower rod.
This rod is well built and once installed is quite sturdy and attractive. Installation is a little tricky because the curve of the rod does not allow you to install one of the 4 screws. You can get both screws in the first end because you can push the rod out of the way towards the back wall. But, when installing the second end, you can't move the rod out of the way to get the front screw in. I don't know how others deal with this but, I bought a hex-headed screw and put it in with a small open-end wrench. It was slow going but, got the job done. Now I have a rod I am quite pleased with.

Quality rod, installation a bit of a challenge
Works great but installation is like putting a cat in a wash tub.Difficulty getting the chrome caps to snap over the mounting brackets. It’s good and sturdy, the shower curtain rings glide easily over the seam. Have had it in place about a year now and it still looks great. I wipe it down periodically with a cloth sprayed with pledge.

So far so good!
We installed this in our guest bathroom, and it adds a bit of elegance to an otherwise dark & boring space. Our tub is of course straight across the front, so I hoped this curved rod wouldn't be a problem, and it's not. It looks terrific, and we've received many compliments!

kind of sweet, difficult to attach
i had to put this up by myself, which is kind of a neat trick, but i did it. got it right the first time too. i used much stronger screw in molly sockets. they should hold just about anything. the prolblem during install is that getting the screw driver in the forward facing screws. the curve is in the way. couldn't use the power driver and by hand i almost wasn't going to make it without stripping the screw heads. but i managed.

Best shower rod?
Very good shower rod. Not your typical "junky" shower rod. The curve works very well in my straight tub, and adds a little room inside the shower.I was angry when Home Depot was selling tension shower rods at a unreasonable price. Unfortunately two years ago I couldn't get this Kohler rod in time for the bathroom reno. We are now happy our old tension rod won't fall down on our newborns head!
