I was trying to look to see where they were made...but could not find an answer for you. I got these for my Italian Made Glass Gallon jars...so I am hoping they are also made in Italy. They do fit my jars perfectly, as the originals had dried and cracked after 10 years of service. These are good gasket replacements and I would purchase again. Hope that helps!

Can these be cleaned in the dishwasher?

I have washed mine in the dishwasher; being silicone, they should be pretty tough. I would make sure to place them top rack only, and pay attention (over time) to make sure the heating element doesn’t dry them out.

Would this help to tighten a rubber topper lid in a canister?

YES! I replaced all my canister lids with these and they work great and look very clean and fine as well. Make sure to measure the size ring you need for your specific canisters.

How much do they stretch? I need a replacement for a gasket that was 3.5 inches diameter inside, but I can't find that size anywhere.

They can't stretch. Each outside diameter is 9.5 cm/ 3.75 inches and inside diameter is 6.9 cm/ 2.75 inches.
