Does not last long at all
This will be the 3rd time Iโve had to replace my o en element. It will almost be 1 yr to the day as well. Iโm beginning to wonder if the quality of your product is in question. I will not order again.

Easy to install
This is easy to install, inexpensive, and a perfect fit for my oven. The only reason I gave it only 4 stars instead of 5 is lack of durability. This is the second one I have purchased, and the last one didn't make it 3 years. It should have a longer life.

Saved me money!
A few months ago I noticed that a portion of the heating element at the bottom was super red and lit up when the rest wasn't when I had the oven on. I didn't think much of it at the time. I figured since I didn't use it much anyway that I'll take care of it when I had time. Of course the holidays and all the extra baking made the problem more prominent. Finally a few days ago the bottom heating element stopped working altogether! So, I scoured online trying to find the part using the oven's model number. Found the part on a separate website, but it was $104 not including shipping. Since it was an official appliance website I figured I could find out the part's number and use it to find a cheaper alternative. Found the part by it's number and on Amazon for $32 with prime shipping! I was like "I'm a prime member!" Bought it. It came in just an hour ago. Went on YouTube and found a quick installation video by AppliancePartsPros that's about 3 min. It was very helpful, because when I got the screws out and I was like "what the heck is this?!" I thought I had to solder for a moment, because I had trouble seeing what I was doing because the lighting wasn't great. Apparently it's like a slip on tab, but it was so tight I thought it was soldered. I've done soldering before, but I suck at it. Luckily the video cleared up my understanding, and eventually got the tabs off and properly installed the new element. When I pulled out the old one I got to really see how it broke. The first picture is of the old element and it looked like it split and melted. Second is of the tabs I had trouble seeing so I took a pic with the flash on to get an idea of what I was dealing with. Finally was the element installed and the oven plugged back in so I can test it out. It worked out great! In fact I think it heated up faster than before! Sorry with how dirty the oven is. It's way overdue for a cleaning (Thanksgiving also did a number on it. We were a little overambitious). I haven't DIY something in a while so I feel rather accomplished. Plus I saved money on a part and didn't have to get a whole new oven! Score!

Caught on fire!!!!
Bought this a few years ago and it just sat in the box. A few months ago, our heating element went on our 2 year old GE oven. Replaced with this one. A few days after installing, noticed a smoke smell to find the wires in the back were kinked and smoking. Fixed that and a few more months go by, which brings us to today. Had oven plugged in to preheat. Heard a loud zapping sound, like metal in a microwave. Bright lights start flashing. Inside of oven was glowing red and circuit, luckily, flipped. Entire heating element burned a hole in itself and caught on fire. Kitchen was filled with smoke. Spend the extra money and get a GE factory replacement. We were so lucky that we were home and able to catch this. It could've been so much worse.
