SAFAVIEH Natural Fiber Runner Rug 2'6"x8' Jute Knotted, Natural NF447A

I’ve owned jute rugs before, but this rug did seem to have a lot more debris within the rug when I first unpackaged it and laid it out. I just took my shop vac and used the wide attachment to vacuum it, which seems to have worked. There was a slight odor at first, which I think is normal considering the material, but that went away after a few days. I really like the pattern of this rug and the length was perfect for the amount of stairs I have. It is a thick rug. To me, it feels soft on the feet when walking on it. I did however buy a roll of padding and cut to size for each stair tread and that helped to cushion each step even more. I attached to each riser and stair tread with the Ryobi staple gun and used golden colored staples (Harbor Freight) which helped conceal them. I did go crazy with the amount I used, but the rug is firmly attached and doesn’t budge! I don’t have a high traffic household, so I definitely feel this rug will hold up for years. I absolutely love how it turned out!

I’m so happy with this jute rug! It adds the perfect earthy, textured touch to my space — exactly what I was going for. The natural color goes with everything and gives a warm, cozy vibe. It arrived well-packaged and laid flat pretty quickly. I was impressed by how sturdy it feels underfoot — it’s definitely high quality. There is a bit of the usual jute shedding at first, but that’s expected and has already started to settle down with regular vacuuming. One thing to note: it’s not super soft, so if you’re using it in a space where you’ll be sitting or playing on the floor, I recommend layering it over a softer rug or adding a rug pad for extra cushioning. Overall, it’s beautiful, well-made, and exactly what I wanted. Would absolutely buy again!

If you’re contemplating buying this rug, don’t. just buy it. It’ll be the best purchase you’ve ever made. I purchased the 8 x 10 in the natural grey color. I was a little skeptical how it would look against my very gray floors, but honestly, it broke up the modern look and created a cozier softer space. It is a high pile carpet and it laid down flat immediately there was no mess. Nothing came off of it. It is so beautiful and matches my decor perfectly bringing in a warm comforting vibe and what I also love about it is that it feels like a foot massage when you’re walking on it.

Just got this rug yesterday, I will update my review should my impressions change. PROS: The carpet is a beautiful color - slightly darker than the pictures show, which I'm very happy about - and much softer than I expected. Feels great under your feet, almost like a gentle foot massage. The cat doesn't seem to hate it either, and it is soft enough that she doesn't think it is a giant scratching post. It is also surprisingly light for an 8'x10' rug - I managed to wrangle it into my SUV and up to the second story of a house by myself. I have not noticed any significant shedding in the 24 hours it has been in my living room. CONS: The carpet sat in the sun for a few hours after it was delivered, and by the time I got home the bag was full of condensation. Upon unrolling, it smelled strongly of wet plants. The smell is just starting to dissipate but I am concerned about the possibility of mold. Also, the carpet is not a full 8'x10', it is more like 7'10"x9'10". Other reviews mentioned the rug causing damage to hardwood floors so I purchased a rug mat to go underneath, which peaked out around the edges so I had to cut it down because the rug is slightly small. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and will probably buy more of these rugs in the future. Update - I have had the rug for a few months now. The dust that collects under the rugs is annoying but not a deal breaker for the price. It is a NIGHTMARE to vacuum, and the activity causes threads to pull and the edges to fray. This is easily fixed with some neutral thread and a needle, but that could be an inconvenience if you don't have the time to fix it after every vacuum day.

WHAT STANDS OUT: • Jute is an incredibly tough, durable material. It easily handles high-traffic areas like entryways or kitchens without showing signs of wear or getting matted down like synthetic rugs. • The handmade braided texture hides dirt and crumbs exceptionally well between vacuums. THINGS TO NOTE: • This is a natural plant fiber rug, meaning it is not a soft, plush material. It is quite rough and scratchy on bare feet, so it is better suited for areas where you wear shoes or slippers. • It does not have a rubberized backing. If you put this on slick hardwood or tile, it will slide around like a sled. You absolutely must purchase a cheap non-slip rug pad to go underneath it. THE BOTTOM LINE: A beautiful, highly durable, and vividly colored runner rug that easily handles high foot traffic, as long as you add a non-slip pad underneath.

UPDATE: lasted no more than a year and a half, terrible considering how much the largest cost, $700+ into the trash. Its only beautiful if it doesnt get used. My kids would always complain about feeling itchy after sitting or laying, and thats because the fibers get stuck on your clothes. Sucks its so beautiful, just not functional whatsoever. so here it goes. When you buy a product online, be smart enough to read the reviews before you purchase that product. With that being said, I purchased this rug knowing full well that it would come with dirt and a smell. So what did I do? I opened the package outside, left it there to air out, (but really it didn't smell bad, it smelled like dry grass) and vacuumed it OUTSIDE as well before bringing it into my house. I bought this rug after reading the reviews submitted about it and prepared myself to clean some before I could bring it in. It is that simple. Now that that is out of the way, time for pros and cons. PROS: 1)it is BEAUTIFUL!! and it quite literally goes with almost any type of decor. Believe me. 2) I needed an oversized area rug for my living room, and I luckily stumbled upon this one because it was one of the few to be over 8x10 (which most large rugs Max out at). This is 11x15 and it was perfect. The variety in sizes is really the pro here 3) it honestly feels really good under your feet. 4) did I mention it was beautiful?? CONS: 1) the obvious, maintenance. Yes, mine came with a good bit of dirt, I vacuumed it. Problem solved. 2) you really do have to vacuum it thoroughly, it leaves fibers behind that if you lay on it (like my kids do) it'll stay on your clothes and make you itch. So make sure to vacuum the crap out of it. 3) I'm really not sure how I'm going to clean this guy up. Like I said, I have kids, and for those who do will understand nothing ever lasts clean. I'm guessing spot cleaning will have to suffice. There really is no easy or thorough way to clean it. 4) there will be some sticks in the fibers. Some I pulled out, others I just tucked them under the rug. I stepped on one and it actually hurt so I made sure to get them all before my kids got poked too. Bottom line: I would get this all over again, even considering the maintenance involved. It really is a beautiful rug and I don't know what else could have brought my living room thogether that way. The only reason I give it 4 Stars and not 5, is because of how dificult it will be to deep clean.

I’ve had this rug 4 months now. It is beautiful but it sheds so much and it has not slowed down even after 4 months. I take it outside and shake it at least nice a week but the amount of fine dust it creates is crazy. Also, several parts of the rug are unraveling after only 4 months which is a bummer. I’m expected it to last longer. It’s beautiful, but functionality wise I would not recommend.

I can’t comment on the longevity. But first impression, jute rug is excellent. There’s a smell but it’s not bad and expected. I still prefer a wool, cozier area rug for the living room. So I used mine for the entryway and best purchase this month so far! I was about to buy a jute rug in IKEA because I saw one after I placed my order. This one is a big high pile though so take note

der erste Eindruck ist super! Wirkt sehr hochwertig, tolle Fußmassage. Staubt sehr stark, aber durch gründliches Absaugen kein Problem. Mal sehen ob er sich wie hier bereits beschrieben wurde irgendwann auflöst. Lieferzeit war sehr lang (2 Wochen?) , da er plötzlich nicht mehr verfügbar war. Und 10€ Versand erscheint mir teuer

I bought the natural 8x10 and it arrived on my doorstep in a few days. I had been hesitating over buying this rug for a few months because there were some bad reviews, but if you’re looking for a good quality, natural jute rug that is affordable and quickly delivered, this is it. There is fallout under the rug, so when I’m vacuuming I go under the rug as well and after vacuuming a few times, the dust/tiny grass particles/dirt I find seems to be reducing. I don’t mind this at all because it remains under the rug until I clean it. I also have two golden retrievers who adore playing and napping on this rug. I use a brushless vacuum and it scoops up the dog hair very nicely, so it’s pet friendly! Not necessarily puppy friendly, because my little one tried to bite the rug in a few places and it became damaged where he tried to chew. I don’t know if this means my puppy is a very talented chewer or if the rug came apart easily. I don’t care, I’ll be replacing this rug with the exact same one when the puppy phase is over 😂 Décoration wise, I get a compliment from every single guest that comes through my door, and everyone is surprised to hear I ordered it off Amazon. It adds a lovely texture to my space and feels nice under the feet. It’s not soft, but not too rough. It’s been softening the more we step on it and the more the dogs play. Overall, 5/5 for quality:cost ratio, delivery speed, and product is pretty much exactly what you would expect from the pictures and descriptions from the seller (unless you’re me, who drastically under estimates how big 8x10 is and is very, very, surprised when it arrives) Happy shopping!
