Pikmin 3 Deluxe (Nintendo Switch)

Good old nostalgia
This was my first introduction back to the franchise since Pikmin 1 for the GameCube. The general concept for those returning is the same with a few interface changes to make the game more user friendly. To begin with you can pick your own difficulty, the 'Ultra Spicy' is however locked until you've completed the game once on the lower difficulty. The developers have incorporated a rather extensive monster-pedia into the game. Every enemy has a weakness so utilise it to save yourself some pikmin. My biggest piece of advice would be to learn to multitask otherwise you'll not get a lot done each day.

Me and son love playing this together
Nintendo seemed to get slammed a bit for re-releasing this but my son is only six and new to gaming so it's the first pikmin we have. The animation is stunning and we love sitting together and playing it on an evening. It's a bit too complicated for my son to play by himself and I think sensitive children might get upset when the pikmin get eaten by monsters- my son found this a bit upsetting at first. A lovely strategy game where you really have to think and solve puzzles. Definitely worth a try!

Beautiful and captivating, Pikmin 3 Deluxe commands your attention
Pikmin 3 Deluxe is the ultimate experience for one of the most charming Nintendo games I've played over the years.Take command of cute Pikmin that help you overcome tasks on a beautiful nature filled planet. Battle, scavenge for supplies and strategically give orders to your squad to discover the secrets of the planet and escape. This game has even more to enjoy than the original version, with extra missions, difficulty settings for players of all skill levels, all DLC included and has a host of tweaks to improve the overall experience. They even added the ability to now play the FULL game in co-op, which is a real game changer but it is still a relaxing and satisfying experience single player too.Do yourself a favour if you haven't given this Nintendo gem a try, try out the free demo and if you like it, give the full game a shot as you can transfer your save data across and continue where you left off.

Cute game but not really causal
The little characters are super cute but this is not really a causal game... you control pikmin to defeat the monsters, solve puzzles and collect fruits to survive with a limited time... when I saw the big boss eating and squishing all my little pikmins I had to pause the game and restart coz I couldn't watch them dying in front of me .. The gameplay can be quite intense but it is a beautiful game with lovely graphics and funny story it will warm your heart (when pikmin singing a song and looking at you will their cute little eyes) Maybe not very suitable for small children to play alone but grown up can play together (There is 2 player co-op mode ) both of you would have lots of fun :)

Insultingly short
Core game is great, really enjoyed what there was of it. But it barely gets started before its all over, theres just 3 maps! (and one boss map). Think I finished it in 8 hours, including some major detours to grab 90% of the fruit. Its also stupidly easy, even on hard mode nothing was much of a challenge. Theres another few hours of side missions (reusing the same maps), which were fun, but again no more than 3-4 hours worth. Its all pretty insulting for a £40 game.

The Ultimate Version of Pikmin
Pikmin 3 Deluxe is by far the best Version of Pikmin 3 there is, Not only do have the Main Game but you also have all 36 Wii U DLC Missions along with Bingo Battle, 3 different difficulties to choose from and the Side Storys featuring Olimar and Louie from Pikmin and Pikmin 2, You can also download a Free Demo of Pikmin 3 Deluxe and transfer the save data to the full Game

I would recommend it
I personally love this game. Brought more for my son who is 8 years old. He flew through it, the only level he got stuck on was the very last boss. So we teamed up and played two player which was fun. The only downside I found with the game was once you have defeated the last boss you couldn't go back to other maps to get 100% in the game, you had to either start again or lose the last day and then would have to redo the last boss.

Great game
I didn't get the chance to play it on Wii U so I cannot compare. It took me 15 hours to finish it completely, which is rather short, but I enjoyed it and will certainly replay it in the future.
