M.Zuiko DIGITAL ED 100-400mm F5.0-6.3 IS, Super Telephoto Zoom, Suitable for All MFT Cameras (Olympus OM-D & PEN Models, Panasonic G-Series), Black

I looked at this lens many times before ordering but was worried about what reviewers said about it being loose on the camera, in my case this is not true it fits as it should. Focus is rapid on my OM 5 ok you need good quality light but images are sharp and stunning, it's quite heavy but the lens shoe fits perfectly on my older Manfrotto tripod which I'm very pleased about. All in all it's a good quality lens so as soon as Amazon dropped the price I got It, not tried with the 1.4 tele yet but looking forward to resuls.

On its own this lens is pretty versatile from close ups of Grasshoppers at 1.6 metres to Kigfishers at 50 meters. Moon shots are also pretty good with the image stabilisation working well. Hand held you still need some support from buildings, car roofs etc for shots that require reach. I use it with a 1.4x teleconverter but it increases the f level and low light becomes an issue. Construction feels a little weak as there is a little play in the main cylinder but it has no affect on photo quality.

This is a top-tier lens in terms of reach, image and build quality. It's also light weigh compared to a full frame lens equivalent. Had my eye on this for a few years and gld I made the investment. Through Amazon, the price was good and delivery prompt. Like all lenses of this focal length, practice is needed to get the best results.

Great lens for wildlife work and half the size and weight of my full frame lenses in the same focal range. Very well made, weather sealed and optically tack sharp. Only had the chance to test it in mediocre lighting conditions so far on my on an Olympus E-M10 Mk.II and E-M1 Mk.II bodies and even then it takes lovely images.

It is just what I want it is giving me better photo opportunities.

The photos I’ve picked are not special they are just my last three I took with it . I love this lens for wildlife photography I mostly use it with the MC14 but if light is a problem on its own . With the 60mm macro and the 100-400 I’m a very happy photographer!

Ich konnte trotz des relativ hohen Preises nicht widerstehen und habe mir dieses Objektiv geleistet obwohl die Fotografie nur eines meiner Hobbys ist. Zu meiner OMD EM10 Mark 2 passt es vom handling eigentlich gar nicht. Trotzdem sind mir auf Anhieb mit dieser Kombination immer scharfe Aufnahmen gelungen. Ich habe einige Beispielfotos mit angehängt. Alle Aufnahmen sind frei Hand mit 400mm (800mm Kleinbild) gemacht und sind JPG`s direkt aus der OMD EM10 M2 unbearbeitet. Der Mond darf natürlich nicht fehlen :-) Was ich als großen Vorteil gegenüber anderen Systemen mit dieser Brennweite sehe, ist ganz klar die Kompaktheit. Klar ist auch das M.Zuiko100-400 schon recht groß und schwer aber ich habe es zusammen mit der EM10 und 3 weiteren Objektiven und einem guten Fernglas in einem wirklich kleinen Fotorucksack (siehe Foto). Den schnappe ich mir nach der Arbeit, schwinge mich aufs Rad und suche nach Motiven. Die Ausrüstung stört mich dabei vom Gewicht oder Volumen überhaupt nicht. Entdecke ich etwas interessantes steige ich vom Rad, nehme die Kamera in die Hand und dank des hervorragenden Bildstabilisators schieße ich auch bei langer Brennweite frei Hand tolle Fotos. Wenn ich erst einmal die M1 Mark... habe ist da sicher noch mehr rauszuholen. Dafür muss ich aber noch ein wenig sparen :-(

Praticamente perfetto, nitido a sufficienza (qualche decadimento assolutamente minino agli estremi) per foto di alta qualità, compatto e resistente, anche se non classificato come pro un obbiettivo con caratteristiche di alto livello, stabilizzato e tropicalizzato. In più può montare i moltiplicatori Olympus (1,4x e 2x) che aumentano il range fino alla incredibile focale di 1600mm (FF equivalenti), cosa che il suo "parente stretto" Panasonic (anche se di altrettanta qualità) non può fare.

Apres quelques mois d'utilisation : Piqué au rendez-vous sur presque toute la plage. Stab bluffante couplée avec OM1. Je suis tres content de mon achat après une grosse deception avec son concurrent Pana non protégé poussière et non réparable (plastoc collé) ce qui est inacceptable à ces tarifs. L'Olympus est costaud, en métal, et donc un peu plus lourd, mais au moins rend son office... un tele en intérieur ca n'a aucune utilité. Filtres de même diam que pour mon 12-100 (72mm), c'est pratique. Objo complétant 12-100 4is pro, 7-14 2.8, 60 macro 2.8, 17 1.2 pour un set d'exception.
