Stacey Daniels is one lucky gal !!!!!!!!!!
Connor Bruce, Captain of The Elite, is centuries old, and for centuries he and every member of his team have hunted for the "Key"...a Dreamer prophesied to come to their world through a dream state, and destroy them. The Key would see them as they really are and recognize that they were not a figment of nocturnal imagination - - but rather real beings who lived in Twilight (a place where the human mind goes to sleep).Connor discovers everything he's been told for centuries about the Key are lies. Luckily for Lyssa Bates, who IS the "Key", Aidan Cross, former Captain of the Elite and Warrior legend (and Connors best friend) found Lyssa first. It is now Connor Bruces' mission to unravel the mysteries of the Elders. He leaves the realm of Twilight to go to the human world.....and meets Stacey Daniels.Stacey Daniels is a Veterinarian Assistant and best friend to Lyssa Bates. She's smart and feisty - - she's also a struggling single mom to her 14 year old son.I loved both Connor Bruce and Stacey Daniels' characters. Connor is so arrogant and full of himself. He's quite funny at times. Connor is the consummate romance hero - strong, charming, capable, noble, and intimidatingly handsome. With his confident manner and unwavering determination, he wastes no time in letting Stacey know in no uncertain terms just how desirable he finds her, quickly dispelling any qualms she might feel regarding his attraction to her. But convincing the gun shy single mother that he can be relied on to be there for her, to come home to her even after long missions away from home is another thing altogether. Stacey needed a lot of convincing, I have to say, and every moment of it was a delicious read!I enjoyed this story much, much more than the first installment of this seriesย Pleasures of the Night (Dream Guardians, Book 1) ย This story is more personal and the connection to the two main characters is flawless. The plot is easier to follow. The only drawback (for me) is that once again - - the story leaves the reader hanging until the NEXT installment! Wonder if we'll find closure then??

3.5 stars
Book two in the Dream Guardians series was pretty similar to the first, style-wise. Great, hot sex, a semi-confusing world, and a good romance. I really enjoyed the heroine. She wasn't too whiny and wasn't overloaded with self-esteem issues. She was strong-willed without being over the top pushy and for the most part she didn't do or say anything too stupid. lol These are things that matter to me in a heroine. The hero was enjoyable enough, not too much of a jerk (though some might disagree), not a push over. The relationship between the two is relatively smooth with some angst but not a lot. It starts off as great sex and turns into a relationship with not a lot of internal conflict regarding that transition. The conflict is mostly external. The whole Dream Guardian universe and whatever is going on in it is pretty confusing to me. I could follow along and understood it on a surface level but never connected to it. Too many details that are just sort of thrown at you without any real depth. There had been a bit of time between the first and second book for me so I was having trouble remembering details of the way things worked. This book does a bit of a recap to remind us about the world but it didn't really help me connect to it. That world building, or lack thereof, was the reason it was a 3.5 stars for me. Maybe others could follow this with no problems but for me it was just not clear enough, or built up enough for me to care about it. The romance is good and the sex is good and I just didn't care about the rest.

Good Book, Bad Packaging
The book was a great read, don't get me wrong. However, the book came with ridged lines on the spine and the cover as if it had already been used. Now I am not one to let this ruin the packaging as a whole, but it would have been much better to have received it completely brand new.

Where's the ending? Don't read just yet
I loved the story en de characters in it. Loved the first book - part one (Pleasures of the Night) too, but where's book 3!!!I can't wait for the ending. That's a real downside to this book and the first one.You are left wondering what's it al about and for...That is why I DON'T recommend reading this 'series'BUT Sylvia's writing is just SO GOOD! it hooks you, until you get displeased about it not having an ending. Like I am now. Secondly, I'm hesitant to read more of her books, because I started to read Sylvia's books starting with the crossfire series, and am now waiting for the last part of that series...As for now: Sylvia isn't going to write the ending of these series (the dream guardians) anytime soon, because she hasn't been asked by her publishers to do so....:( Leaving her fans hanging...So for now it's a DON'T READ! -----> just yetsorry Sylvia, u are the Best!

LOVED IT But Left Disappointed
I'm not going to tell you what the book is about; other readers have covered that. I will tell you that the Dream Guardian series is phenomenal! I've been a SJ fan for quite some time. While I've thoroughly enjoyed the Crossfire series, my favorites have been her historical stories. However, when I read these 2 books, they jumped to the top of my favorite list. *sigh* if only life could be even a fraction this good lol. Okay, here's the down side and the biggest disappointment: there is no third book, and from reading the FAQ's on the author's website, it doesn't appear that one is going to happen even though the author says she would like that to be the case. There is nothing so frustrating than getting so sucked into a story line, involved with the characters and then NOT finding out what the hell happens. I HATE a story with NO resolution! Sorry Sylvia but you dropped the ball by not negotiating better with the publishers.

Really enjoying this series!
This carryโs on from book 1, but this time the focus Characters are Connor and Stacey. Aidan having already crossed from the dream world into the real world, has left Connor and the dream guardians to continue the fight against the nightmares. Connor as his best friend and second in command was looking into the key and the role she plays in the grand scheme of things. When he learns of things, he is unable to communicate with Aidan whilst still in the dream world, he has to make the one way journey to the real world to help his best friend. Once there Connor very quickly falls for Lysaas friend Stacey.Loads happens in this book and lots of unanswered questions are left. Looking forward to the final book in this story.

Promising series that has ground to a halt...
I really got into this series, and loved the idea of dream/nightmare warriors. Unfortunately, according to the author's own website, there seems to be little chance of the series being completed at the moment due to differences of opinion with the publisher and I quote 'When they offered to contract two more, we were unable to agree on the terms. As a career author I have to weigh business concerns as well as creative ones, so I had to put the series on the back burner'. She also mentions that if there is to be a book 3, the hero will be Phillip Wager (which is only fitting). All of this is very frustrating for the fans of her books, but only time will tell if some other publisher will take pity on us and allow the series to reach it's conclusion, I certainly hope so and the sooner the better!

One of my most favourite sagas of all time continues with this excellent read.
The Dream Guardian saga is one of the most creative and imaginative storylines in the fantasy romance genera I have every read. Book two flows seamlessly from the first, and brings all of the characters together. The romance is so strong; you cannot help but fall in love with the heroes. I am just disappointed that the author is unable to continue with the saga at this time due to contractual issues with her author. She notes that due to being a career author she has to weigh business concerns as well as creative ones, which is obviously desperately disappointing for the fans of the saga.

Brilliant follow up to Book 1
As with book 1 in this series I could not put this book down. You still have all the romance between Aiden and Lyssa with a new romantic steamy liaison to boot. I wont spoil it, but needless to say this is a sci fi steamy romance that oozes passion and love between all the main characters. A good twist toward the end. I felt bereft when I finished the book only to realise there was no Book 3 to download. When is Book 3 coming??? I can't wait.
