This one had me agonizing..
Full disclaimer, I have NOT bought this drive. My friend however did, and based on his experience thus far and my own research, I'll pen down a comprehensive review. To start it off, addlink isn't a well known brand. That's surprising considering they have been around for nearly a decade now. Yet, what is more surprising is the quality of their products. S70, is an SSD that would be best described as an SN550 from the east. For those who don't understand the reference, SN550 is a legendary SSD from Western Digital that made a name for itself by giving impressive level of performance for rock bottom prices. S70 is a near deja vu in this regard. Equipped with the time tested Phison E12 Controller, Toshiba 3D TLC Nand and a drive speed that touches 3400mb/s reads and 3000m/s writes, you're essentially looking at an amazing SSD made with top tier components from well known brands by a brand that has an obscure presence at best. In-fact, addlink seems to sell drives mostly through online platforms, which explains how they're able to trade blows with the top tier Gen3 SSDs from popular brands, at lower prices. I mean, when you have limited cost overheads pushing sales to offline shops, you save quite a few bucks which you can then pass over to consumers to bridge the gap with the giants you're competing against. Combine that with the 1.2 PBW and you're looking at a drive that eclipses the write capacity cap of most popular brands like Samsung, ADATA, WD etc. That being said... the drive isn't without issues and the very reason it's missing two stars from my review. Foremost, the support software is lacking. And when I say lacking, what I truly mean is that it does not exist, which means you need to have a fair amount of knowledge about M.2s to fully grasp and take advantage of this beast. But what ultimately is its Achilles's Heel, at least in India that is, is addlink's sketchy presence here. Components might be impressive on paper but they can fail out of the blue. If the brand itself isn't there to give support, investing expensively into something that has scarce presence is something only folks with deep pockets would do. I've been in touch with various sellers and perused pages of reviews on amazon.com, and they all claim one common theme, that addlink's warranty system works through its importer/distributor. If it ever fails, you can ship it back and they'll provide you with a replacement. But would they, really? If so, in what time frame? Doubts about genuineness aside, the fact that addlink has trouble keeping stock afloat on amazon US and EU, casts questions about how seriously would they prioritize a country that isn't even listed on their website. Ultimately though, what really breaks it for me is the suspicious warranty coverage. While the SSD box would have you believe that the drive is covered with a 5 year warranty, something that addlink confirms on their site as well, this comfort does not transition to countries that aren't covered in their official recognition list. For example, in India the warranty is reduced to just 3 limited years for reasons unknown. Though some sellers stand by the 5 year warranty promise, I can confirm at least one distributor who adamantly stuck to the reduced warranty. I reached out to some friends in smaller countries too and they mirrored similar antics with one dude from Pakistan claiming the warranty to be as low as just one year. Honestly, that does not invoke confidence at all. One can't help but wonder exactly why. Is the quality of drives being sent here questionable? Or does addlink view denizens of certain countries as tech averse and undeserving of the 5 year faith? Whatever the reason maybe, as much as the specs of this SSD make it an attractive product, I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger on this one solely based on doubts centered around the question of after market service.

Bought this in June for my Steam Deck and deliberately waited 3 months before writing my review. The drive comes as described and the read/write speeds are as described. I have been using this every day since and I have no issues whatsoever, would definitely recommend it. Pros: Great price Fast Reliable (this far) Cons: No really. If I wanted to nitpick, I think they could have included some disk imaging software or a flash drive to facilitate easier upgrades. My lone con is a stretch, thus far this is a great drive.
