Great for arthritic hands
I picked up one of these off the desk of a co-worker and had a hard time putting it down. I was expecting it to feel like the usual stress ball, but you can tell immediately that this is a completely different type of product. The texture of the ball is very squishy and feels wonderful in your hands. I originally tried the extra large black ball, which is the most firm, and found that I had inadvertently overworked my hands by just mindlessly playing with it for a few hours. The packaging clearly states that you should take it slowly and not overwork in the beginning, but I was not aware of that until I purchased my own exerciser. I decided on the extra large blue ball and can tell that it is not as firm as the black, nor will it tire my hands as much, but I can definitely still feel it working. I have some stiffness from arthritis and using a tablet too often, so this really helps loosen things up and stretch out the tightness. Also helps loosen my wrists. I highly recommend these exercisers, and have purchased a soft one for my elderly mother who has severe arthritis. It did have a slight chemical odor, but that diminished quickly. I have also washed mine with soap and water which left it incredibly sticky, but a little cornstarch returned it to a smooth unsticky state.

Excellent hand therapy
Due to an injury I lost the muscle strength to both hands and on the recommendation of my therapist ordered the product complete with use instructions. Following those and the recommendations of my therapist the muscle strength of my hands the strength increased almost immediately. You can use the device almost any time as I found myself exercising watching movies or tv shows. Small investment, small effort and nice improvement in hand strength in a short period of time. For me it’s been a smart investment in time for good results which easily justify the costs.

Really good to improve your grip.
When I first grab the package from the ground I felt the ball trough it and i though it felt too soft to be the extra firm, but when I got it out and squiquished it, it felt quite hard, enough to sore my forearm after a few minutes. Its not too big nor too small, just the right size, I would reccomend using gold bond body powder because it stay longer on the ball.

Inconsistent
I ordered the Extra Large Black Hand Exerciser, but initially received the regular size black one instead. The vendor (Medical Department Stores) immediately apologized, sent me the correct item, and even threw in a discout code for my next purchase. Excellent customer service!!! The product itself, however, is very inconsistent. The regular size ball is very firm, and is consistent throughout; but the Extra Large version is not. There is a seam from the mold it was made in. From the seam to one end of the Extra Large looks and feels just like either half of the regular size ball. The longer end of the Extra large is MUCH softer and stickier. I asked the manufacturer if it was supposed to be like this; and they told me that this is a defect -- but the replacement they sent me is exactly the same. Great Customer Service -- Terrible Quality Control. All of them are useable -- just not quite what I was expecting, and not as useful as they would be if manufactured properly. The only other issue I have with them is that they are always either sticky or dirty (or both). I wash them in the sink with mild hand soap (which makes them extremely sticky), and then roll them in corn starch baby powder. I keep them on plastic trays, to keep them from sticking to the table; but using them wears off the powder and makes them stick to my hands again within a day or two. The oblong shape of the Extra Large makes it much more versitle than the regular. It can be squeezed from end to end, making it larger and providing a greater range of motion; or it can be squeezed from side to side, giving a better tight grip exercise, with more surface area available than the regular ball. They work fairly well if you have the patience to maintain them; but would be much better if there were better quality control in the manufacturing process, and perhaps a cloth cover, or some other type of "skin", to keep them from sticking to everything.

Great!
This hand exercise ball is exactly what I needed. It is the right size. Most others were too small. I love the texture, also. It is very squishy and you can warm it up in the microwave which helps sore hands. Great product.

not bad
I was shopping around for a hand exerciser... Was going to buy one of those old spring-powered things, but I saw this and figured I'd give it a try. I purchased the red/soft/beginner/level 2 hand exerciser in the extra-large size. Despite what the pictures may show, the extra-large size isn't actually a ball. It's more of an egg or capsule shape... Rounded at the ends, longer in the middle. It's got a good resistance to it - about what I was looking for with the spring-powered exerciser. But I'm not sure about the material itself... The hand exerciser ships in a little plastic bag and it's dusted with some kind of fine, white powder. I'm thinking this powder is probably to keep it from sticking to the packaging. The whole thing has a texture something like a gummi candy. Very squishy. Vaguely sticky. It kind of feels like if I were to squeeze hard enough I might just push my fingers through it. It's working just fine, but I'm somewhat concerned about its durability.

good product
I truly needed something to help my hands. After some medical issues, my hands got so weak and just weren't cooperating on some levels. At the suggestion of a friend, I bought these. I got the red ones, and they are perfect. I can feel the resistance and they are quite comfortable to squeeze. And they have helped. I used them pretty consistently, a couple of times a day for a few weeks. now I use them just once in a while and find them to be comforting.

Das Produkt kam vollkommen widerlich und verschmiert bei mir an. Vollkommen unbrauchbar, feucht und kreideverschmiert.

The write-up said "extra large" -- but the circumference is just 16.5cm. When you close your hand around it, your thumb has nowhere to go.
