I did not realize this until i received the tv. I have an older model Bose DVD player and it did not come with a hdmi hook-up. The converter works fine but just wanted to let people know if you have older electronics to connect to newer electronics check to see if both have hdmi connectors or you will probably need a converter because one or the other will have a componet connection. Manual states the unit does not like certain interlaced modes, and I did encounter a blank screen when testing old video game consoles until I forced progressive scan mode on the console itself.
