I've been saving since I was about 16 years old and most of the time I used a shaving machine. My father gave me my first one when I was 16 and also taught me how to use a razor. The razor was a Gillette Mach3 that I use until today. I tried switching to another one but I always come back to this one. Until about two months ago. I saw a video on YouTube about safety razors and I remembered that I heard good things about them. So I started checking around, reading about this and decided to give it a try. Since I wasn't sure if I'll like it, I decided to find one that is not very expensive and I was pretty surprised to see that Gillette is selling one that is considered to be good for beginners and cost about $30. I bought it with a shaving brush and soap and I must say it's better than I expected. The razor have a good weight to it and it feel solid and stable in my hand. The shave was very good and I now understand what the buzz if all about.

So much better than a multi blade razor also much cheaper for blades. No longer have any irritation on my face.

I have been using it for over a year now, and it has been an absolutely amazing experience. Recommend using Astra blades with this for a clean shave.

Got the handle to replace my cheap butterfly that wouldn't close properly anymore. Handle seems solid and is not aggressive. Unfortunately the blade included is also not aggressive. I'd have as much luck shaving with a butter knife. After switching to another brands aggressive blade the razor shaves close like a champ. So close, just missed the mark.

I'm new to double edge safety razors and very happy with this purchase. I have always been shaving with Gillette Fusion5/Proglide etc razors. For a very quick shave those are good. But the downside is those leave bumps on my neck. Enter this dual safety blade razor, the neck bumps are practically non existent. Blades are sharp, comfortable handle and weight. Easy to change out blades. Highly recommended.

I know it’s expensive for this kind of razor, but it’s a life long investments. It’s built to last, it feel heavy and amazing in your hand. Definitely one of the best purchases I’ve made, I love it. Best way of shaving too just be careful.

Husband uses this for beard edge only and it works well for straight lines. Son uses one for his whole face and also likes it. Well made product.

Great and useful

I returned to double edge razors after a very long stint with cartridge, disposables and electric razors. Never thought the bumps on my face were due to these so called modern razors and ingrown hair. Had read about KCG DE razor being introduced in the US, UK etc. and wished to get one when it popped up on Amazon.ae or any hypermarket in UAE. Got one a couple of weeks back from Amazon but missed the lower price and discounted sale earlier. It was in my "Shopping List" but never had an inkling of the steep price rise that happened or I'd have bought it when price was lower. Anyways could not resist the itch and I bought it at the higher price. that's the only regret I have. The razor comes in a simple cardboard box. I expected a travel case like the Feather or Gillette Heritage. Feather Popular TTO razor that costs only AED 30 comes with a decent plastic case. Feather ASD2 Stainless Steel razor that I have is a different league with a luxury case. Would like to reduce half star for the lack of case but no provision for it on Amazon review system. KCG came with a tuck of KCG blades made in Russia. The handle is made in China as per the writing on the box. Nothing about the head and base plate. Possibly are from Germany as there was a paper inside the head with German text. KCG is laser etched on the head. Nice touch. The razor is a 3 piece type and heavy at 102gm. Handle is 97mm long and 11.5mm diameter. The overall length of razor is 105.5mm . The handle is smooth except has blunt knurls at near the top end of it extending to the middle. The bottom portion is smooth and rounded end. But I did not find it difficult at all to hold nor that slippery while shaving. The length and girth seemed right for me. The heft too is good enough. The chrome finish is bright and shiny. Started liking heavy and long handle razors when I got my first 3 piece Pearl SS01 and KCG topped it with it's heft. Don't feel like going back to lighter razors like my Merkur 34C or Feather Popular. My first shave with KCG razor and KCG blade was a bit painful. The result was a BB smooth shave though. Possibly because I was using the 32gm Feather Popular earlier and it was in my memory and I lightly pressed the razor on my face while shaving with the heavy KCG. I should have left the weight of razor to do the work than press it against my face. The next two shaves were better. Now the 4th shave with same blade and no irritation, nick or cut. Just a BBS shave.. Very slight stinging when I ran the alum block over my face after the shave but it died down soon. No sting when I put the aftershave. I have a medium beard so I might end up with 6 shaves with this blade and razor combo. YMMV. A keeper and going to be my go to razor along with with Feather ASD2..
