Interesting, but got repetitive
This is not really a book; that is, it doesn't have a beginning, middle and end or even a story, really. Instead it is a collection of quotes from players, agents, and journalists about Roger Federer. It is interesting to read all the quotes, but since they aren't really edited and don't have any commentary with them, they -- not surprisingly -- get very repetitive. It is too bad because there are some gems in there, but you have to wade through a lot of platitudes to get to any of them. I don't want to tell Malinowski how to do his job, but I would have loved his insight (any insight, really) about the quotes or to have them in some sort of context or chronological order to really have it hit home. I am a Fed fan, so it was nice to see how respected he his by, well, everyone. But reading this straight through was a bit of a slog. If you do decide to go for it, I would recommend reading it in chunks with at least a week or two between chapters.

Roger the Great
This short book is quotes of how great Roger is and without a doubt he is. For the first half of the book you are really glad you are reading it. But then, it is a little too much of the same. A good newspaper article would have been enough. I would also add that some of this is transcripts from press conferences, no work done. Irrespective, I definitely enjoyed it but you must be a serious fan even though it is a short read.

un-putdownable
Have watched a number of Fed matches. Nobody has played or plays the game as effortlessly or as gracefully as him- this is known to all tennis fans . But the book offers some wonderful and unusual insights of Federer as a genuinely nice human being , which are not as well known . Particularly the time he gives to the press and to the ATP to help other players.

Little information for Federer fanatics
There isn't a lot in this book that his fans don't already know, but Iwould recommend it to those fans that haven't read most of thisstuff already. I think fans of Federer are hanging out for an autobiography of his life so far, such as those already published bysome of the other greats, such as Nadal, Agassi, etc.

Facing Frderer
Very boring. I thought there would have been more comments about his style of play and how difficult it was to counter .More stories about his epic matches. It seemed to be only about the aura and presence he has on the court and what a gentleman he is off the court. All very predictable. Can't recommend it to anyone

Nice and easy reading
It's nice and easy reading thus the rating. I think the writer is quite objective. I have a better picture of the player I enjoy watching which is a very positive one.I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys watching this player.

Not much more than a selection of sound bites
Even being a fairly rabid Fed fan I just couldn't plow my way through the whole book. It's not really anything more than loosely strung together sound bites from various players/people on Federer. Most of those lack depth, nor do they provide much insight into the man. Goodness knows I wanted to like it, and there are a few gems scattered among the dross, but not enough to make it worthwhile in my opinion.

Federer as seen through the eyes of tennis professionals. A MUST read for serious tennis fans.
If you serious about tennis and are really want to know why Federer is the greatest player of all time....then this is your book. Scoop Malinowski is not so much the writer, he's the editor. He's compiled comments and quotes from scores of tennis insiders since Federer picked up a racquet. Players, coaches, tournament directors, the tennis press, agents, ball boys, trainers....you name it, they all have their take on Rodger. I highly recommend this book.

A must for Federer Fanatics
This is a book for Roger's devoted fans with a good background knowledge of his life and achievements. I have followed tennis for many years and consider Federer to be the G O A T. The book details the opinions of other players on the ATP tour who have faced him over the years, many of them great players in their own right, such as Marat Safin whose quote about Roger was 'Pure Genius'.There are also opinions provided by people working in the players' lounge such as Lisa who 'liked' him, despite thinking that many of the other players were 'spoilt'.The layout of the book is simple ie quotes and some black and white photos at the end. My only criticism is that the print is rather small so not for the partially sighted!

Fascinating views of Federer's opponents over the years about this exceptional player
Simply fascinating - comments from so many of his opponents and others over his career. As we all know, this man is the most exceptional of tennis players. Anyone interested in tennis generally, not just Federer's followers, should find the views of him and his play revealing and intriguing. It all contributes to how this man is so brilliant on a tennis court, in fact incomparable.

Interesting Read
An interesting read but not as extensive as I had hoped when I heard about it. As a massive fan of Federer I was hoping for more in-depth analysis.
