Wow
Way better than expected. This was the MM of old, the way I'm used to her being. This was a great start to a new series. I knew she would redeem herself and she did. It started with the last Mick Sinatra book and she hit it out of the park with Monk and Ashley. This was not a pairing I saw coming. Ashley seemed too immature. Too much of a lazy, confused party girl but, I was wrong. There seems to be depth to her character/personality; not all shallow water. I hope MM grows this character and not make her one dimensional. I'm so looking forward to future books from this series bc I want to see the evolution of Monk and Ash. There is more to them than meets the eye. I loved how Monk is helping Ashley to realize and see her worth. I loved how he saw her and seems to understand her when no one else could. Not even her. I loved how she took a chance on them and fought her own instinct to self sabotage. I'm ready for book two in this series. Like Right Now Ready! I'm also ready for Teddy's next book. What's up with him? Is he leaving or staying? Anywho, this is a must read. I highly recommend it. I just hope MM doesn't mess this up by stunting Ashley's growth. Please keep this character evolving. Dnt turn her into Grace or Gloria. Please dnt mess up this character like you almost did Rosiland. I still dnt like the Tommy books bc of Grace. I have digressed. Forgive the tangent; however, when you have purchased nearly ever book written by this author. You have earned the right to voice an opinion. Lol. Anywho, this book is awesome. Read it. You won't be disappointed.

Amazing
I love this book so much and watch out Teddy T lol Monk is moving on up. I love this story, I have been waiting over a year for this book starring Ashley Sinatra. Don't get me wrong I like Carly a lot but I could relate to Ashley. It was not easy knowing that you were loved by your family but still the black sheep. Monk was the right man for her and he saw her pain because he was a little broken also. Well done Mallory Monroe for finally showing just how strong Ashley is. The action was on point. I loved how Monk listen and saw the real Ashley. Mick let the world know when you come for a Sinatra watch out. Now waiting for Tony Sinatra's book no rush lol yes rush. Mallory Monroe never ever disappoints. She is a 1click author/

Taming Ashley
REVIEW:I have to say that this story started off kind of slow for me, but it did pick up. When we first met Frankie “MonK” Paletti, I thought he would be a good fit for either Ashley or Gloria. Monk had this present when we met him in Teddy’s book, and I am glad to see that he has his own story. The blurb of this book is the review, it tells you everything about Monk and Ashley. Frankie is a man’s man and he like to be left alone, he is a no-nonsense person, he doesn’t do drama or take a lot bull sh$$ off anybody. He is upfront about what he wants. Frankie wasn’t looking for love because of his connection to the mob, and he wasn’t about to give his heart to a woman, but that all change when he met Ashley.Ashley Sinatra is the older adopted daughter of Big Daddy & Janae, everybody has always figure Ashley was easy, dump and just like to have fun. Ashley family love her from the moment she and her sister became pat of the family, but Ashley has felt that even though her family loved her they never really saw here, no one but Donny and that’s because those two are just a like misunderstood. When Monk first met Ashley he felt a connection like know other, she was always on his mind or in the back of his mind and they both would come to each other in their dream, but Monk saw past the outside and saw the inside of Ashley, the loving, caring Ashley. Ashley would constant wonder why her, why not her Monk would say, he treated her like the queen she was and he made sure she understood that she deserve everything, but Ashley also saw part the hurt that Monk carried around and why he felt the most happy when he was alone.I am looking forward to reading more about Monk and Ashley, and I love the way you see the growth in Ashley and the way she stood up for herself and the relationship with Monk, that even surprise him but she was the woman right alongside with him.SmoochesLL Brown

The couple to watch!
I was waiting for Ashley to get hers! And Monk is perfect for her. From the beginning, Ashley has hidden her insecurity by being wild, reckless and irresponsible--- while Carly her young sister was the exact opposite...I found it interesting that Charles and Jenae derived there were deeper issues that defined Carly's behavior yet never delved into what caused Ashleys'....none of the family did except Donald...I love the bond between Donald and Ashley. They always have each other's back , support each other and share their true selves with each other...And finally, with Monk, Ashley has that and more...Monk is not going to let Ashley get away with hiding behind a facade...On the flip side, Ashley is not going to let Monk slip into the shadows...She is going to show him how to enjoy life, while he encourages her to flex her intellectual muscles...something she previously has only shared with Donald.I loved how Monk stepped to Mick when he was dismissive toward Ashley telling him what had happened to her. Bravo Monk! This was a good beginning to Monk and Ashley...there was an underlying sense of so much left unsaid and hovering drama surrounding Monk and Ashley....I think there is a lot more to Monk being the way he is and Ashley definitely has some painful childhood secrets that I don't believe anyone in the family including Donald know.I'm looking forward to Boss Monk and his Boss Lady Ashley story evolving.

Fantastic
Ashley and Monk's story was beautifully done. Even though Ashely has been in many books by this author, I certainly did not pay her much attention. This author took the time to peel back the layers of Ashley and made us the audience fall in love with her. Monk is the perfect guy for her and I hope to read many books about this couple in the near future as I am already anxiously awaiting their next book. Fantastic read, especially for those of us who knew Ashley previously and remembered Monk from his cameo in Teddy and Nikki series.

Enjoyable Couple
I enjoyed Ashley and Monk. At first I thought Ashley was really acting childish/girly/immature but as the story developed I saw her turn into a woman who could be a Monk's side. I liked how he saw how other saw her and treated her and he treated her differently. She has proven that she can hold her own at his side. I really enjoyed reading their story. I look forward to reading more about them.

A good start to the series.
I liked how the story was built. We could see the slow and steady transformation of both Ashley and Monk. Monk straightforwardness was refreshing. I love how Ashley, although she was free spirited and didn’t growup in the mob (just mob adjacent), was still able to handle herself and trust Monk. Actually, her personality is probably ideal to balance Monk’s out and not take things too seriously. Teddy and Mick’s appearances were great and I love how Mick, although he’s not sentimental at all, values family above all else. He basically gave Ashley his blessing to be with Monk and avenged her when it was required. He wasn’t going to get bog down with sentiments and more importantly keep a problem (Mickey) fester. There were a few things missing for me though. First of as this is supposed to be the start of a new self contained series, I needed more details on Ashley’s background story. The book kept alluding to her being a “bad girl” but in what way? We also got a physical description of Monk but not Ashley. What does she look like? How old is she? etc...The sex scenes as well were disappointing. I’m all for understatement and romanticism but it didn’t fit Monk’s straight forward personality. Too flowery.I know Ashley is a grown woman but I found it odd that Monk got her in his house but didn’t say a word to Teddy, his best friend and her cousin. Now he is asking for her hand without smoothing things out with Big Daddy first. It’s borderline disrespectful even more so according to the mob code. As an aside, I understand that Monk wants to love Ashley as is but now that he is going to be Boss, she’s going to have to mature fast and learn to read the room. Her busting into the “parlor” at the Don’s house was inappropriate. Was she going to make a scene and make Monk look weak in front of these old fashioned mobsters? She would have been better off sorting this mess at home and making her position crystal clear.
