Fantastic radio player, this is how radio's should be made!!!
So many great and wonderful stations are internet radio stations now and this radio picks up pretty much all of them from around the world, give and take maybe a couple which is probably down to how the stations are set up though pretty much everything you search for comes up and it's brilliant!! Listening to Epic Radio, Neon Radio etc. which are fantastic stations, specially if you check out DJ Illusion's Flashback Show which is one of the most unique shows I have ever heard with all the great artists and even some you don't hear so often but miss on the radio, it's good. He plays exclusive megamixes of artists, using soundbites from various movies and TV shows from back in the day within the mixes and during the drops whether it's Beavis and Butt-Head or Asterix the Gaul or movies such as Lock Stock and all the greats you'll recognise it's so unique and the fact he has drops from Shalamar, Matt Goss, Dee Tails from MN8, Leee John from Imagination and more who have all recorded these for his show, it's pretty awesome but this goes to show how these radio stations are incredible as opposed to the regular stations you hear on the FM radio's which play the same songs and same artists constantly. You'll never go back to these stations once you discover all the fantastic radio station's which are out there, as this radio player picks up. The sound quality is fantastic too! I've not even had it full blast because it's loud enough at half way haha and the quality is good too. It's so easy to connect and set up, takes two minutes and is very intuitive. The player saves the stations you have recently listened to making it easy to switch between the radio stations as opposed to having to search the station again with the dial which is how you search using the text however you can also search by genre, country, city, so many ways and discover stations that way also. The radio has a lovely display which showcases the logo of stations you are listening to really nicely on the front, you can see the info about the station which gives you a bit of back story on where the station is based, how it's set up etc. on the display or you can change it to just display the city the station is from. The clock is on there as well which is nicely small above and doesn't need to be updated. This really is how all radio's should be made as eventually I'm sure this feature is going to be built in to all radio players meaning people don't have to stick to the regular stations we hear all the time (which is the same stuff constantly) and when you have all these hidden gems and stations it's wonderful, which soon as people discover these they're just going to grow more and more and are wonderful stations to have on constantly in your kitchen or wherever you have the radio on in the background, as well as of course traveling in cars and things, you're going to enjoy all these stations so much more once you discover your favourite ones and you'll never look back. It's quite a turning point really and is going to be fantastic for these stations as well, giving them the chance to grow and compete with the stations which most people are tired of hearing now and it's slowly but surely going to take over because people will discover all these wonderful stations with the wonderful DJ's and they're honestly brilliant!! Internet radio built in should be standard now and it's only a matter of time until it's how all radio players are made. This radio is truly fantastic, great quality, looks nice, works well and I recommend it to everyone who wants a new radio for their home. So happy with this purchase. Everyone should have one of these radio players, seriously ... I hope this has helped a few people who may want to buy a new radio player but are trying to find which one to go for.

An excellent choice
Great value for money. Works very well, easy to switch from DAB to Internet Radio, easy to set up and configure. Great display. I’m using rechargeable batteries (it’s my bathroom radio) and I don’t know how long they will last, but I’m not really bothered as I always have 4 on charge. All in all, an excellent choice.

Good value and versatile Internet / DAB /FM Radio.
I own or have owned several Wi-fi radios over the years and for the money this is the best one yet. It’s not as robust as a Pure or Roberts but at the price what do you expect? As a bonus it also has DAB, DAB+ and FM for flexibility. It looks good, is easy to configure and most importantly sounds good. It can also be used as a Bluetooth speaker although I have not yet tried this facility. As with all Wi-fi radios connection can sometimes be a bit flaky but if your Wi-fi signal is good you shouldn’t have a problem. It has a good collation of internet radio stations, better I think than Pure, Roberts or Tunein ( Amazon devices ). How it will last and perform in the long term is always an issue with technology, it has a three year manufacturers warranty but at this price point if it fails within or after then you are not going to be too much out of pocket. I hope I haven’t talked up any problems!, but at this moment I would recommend this radio.

EXCELLENT INTERNET RADIO
Bought for my wife as an 80th. birthday present. So far, she is delighted with it; there are slight problems but these are minimal. The micro-usb power lead became intermittent, instantly sorted with a spare. It would be better if the usb lead were right angled to prevent any strain when the radio is placed against a wall or similar. I have seen other reviews also mentioning problems with this lead, so buy a good quality spare! The sound quality is very good and the volume more than adequate with no distortion. Controls are small oblong buttons arranged in two rows. This was the other problem, as my wife is nearly blind! However, easily overcome as you can feel the buttons to select the pre-programmed station by counting from the top-left, etc. In all, a very good INTERNET radio. I cannot comment on the other radio functions as we are in a radio signal shadow and unable to receive FM/DAB. So, suggest read other reviews.

Excellent - with issues - 1 star now though - now returned!!!
Edit2: A month later and I'm returning it!!!!! See below for my original review and first edit - I would now give zero stars if I could. This radio now randomly switches itself into standby mode when on external power. So returning for a refund due to long term reliability issues. Edit: See below fro my original review! I originally gave 4 stars. I've now given 1 star because of the lack of support from Lemega regarding the faulty cable supplied. Also Lemega have answered one of the questions here 'inaccurately'! The radio does not retain alarms in the event of a power cut - it simply switches off and needs to be manually re-started when power is restored. This is when on external power, with or without batteries. The batteries do not act as a backup in the event of a power cut. I should have tested this earlier - before I wrote my original review - but it loses stars for this. I have contacted Lemega about the faulty cable they supplied with my unit but have had no response. They seem more intent on supplying an inaccurate answer to a question posted here! Anyway it's 1 star for that! Here is my original review: This is the 4th model of Internet Radio I have tried. The others failed to impress and were returned for refunds. First the Pure Elan IR3 which had poor sound and connection problems. Then Ocean Digital WR336N which had even worse connection issues. Then LEMEGA M2+ which was a great Internet Radio with zero connection issues but terrible DAB reception. Then this LEMEGA IR1. So here's my review of this lovely little radio. The first thing I'll say, which loses half a star, is that one of the advertising pictures is misleading. They plainly show 4 2800mAH batteries (so re-chargeable) which not only made me think they were included, but that they charged from the power supply. Why else would they supply re-chargeable batteries? Well - they don't! No batteries are supplied despite the picture. Then the second issue I had was that the supplied USB power cable was faulty and did not power the radio! Thank goodness I had a spare cable to try. I will email LEMEGA to ask them for a replacement cable that works. That loses another half star. So moving swiftly onto the good points - and why I will not be returning this radio! It is small, light and attractive. I bought the white and grey model for slightly more money and it looks great. I will be concentrating more on the Internet Radio side of things but it does have FM and DAB too. On power up by pressing the volume/select control knob, with the supplied USB 5V power supply, I was able to connect effortlessly to my Wi-Fi using WPS. Then I was very quickly listening to BBC R4 via the station list menu - UK - Popular. There I left it for a couple of hours and, unlike the Pure and Ocean Digital radios I tried, the connection stayed re-assuringly solid. The Lemega M2+which I tried, and is much, much more money than this, has the slight advantage of being able to use an internet page to search for stations and add to favourites. This IR1 does not have that facility BUT, and this is a big but, the instructions bizarrely make no mention of the wonderful UNDOK App available for IOS and Android which can control this radio and makes searching for stations and adding to presets a real joy! You can also control the volume and pause playback as well as inspecting or amending sleep time left and other settings. I really don't know why Lemega don't mention that this App works with the IR1 - since they do with the M2+. That brings me to presets. You can add a station to presets very easily by long pressing the buttons 1 to 3+ on the radio. If you add to 3+, you will get the option to add to presets 3 to 20. This gives 20 presets each for Internet, DAB and FM mode, so these are the 60 presets in total referred to in the advertising. Navigation through the station list menus is very good from the radio panel too but searching is a bit of a pain which is why I love having the UNDOK app for this. When on USB power and powered 'off', the radio goes into standby, displaying the clock and information regarding alarms. When powered back on from standby on USB power, re-connection to your last listened to station is very quick. When on just battery power (I used rechargeable batteries) and the radio is de-powered, it disconnects and turns off completely to preserve battery power. So on just batteries, alarms will not work. Re-powering with batteries takes a little while because the radio has to reconnect before playing the last station listened to again. Alarms work well. You have 2 so, e.g. wake to radio on one alarm and then have alarm 2 later with a buzzer. I do like the alarm features. For each alarm you can select off, daily, once, weekends or weekdays. You get the option of selecting buzzer, Internet Radio, FM or DAB for each alarm and for each you can choose last listened too or a preset and a volume setting. Great if, like me, you go to sleep to one station at one volume and want to wake to another at a different volume. The alarms have a soft start to them when they 'go off' which is lovely. You can snooze too with a press of the select/volume button. Using the sleep function requires 3 button presses and takes you to a choice of OFF, 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes before the radio turns itself to standby (assuming USB power is being used). I found the display a bit bright at night in it's default mode but there is a great backlight dimming feature which you can select to dim the display after a period of time from 10 secs to 180 secs. There are 3 levels of 'On level' and 3 levels of 'Dim level'. The sound quality is very good, particularly considering the small size of speaker - and the volume range is great. I really like the fact that the low volume levels are actually very low and great for night listening without disturbing others - this was a real problem with the M2+ for me. DAB and FM reception is very good too. Put up the arial before selecting DAB for the first time because it starts scanning straight away! Once scanned, it won't scan again when re-selecting DAB (unless you want it to using the menu). As with internet radio, you have 20 DAB presets available to you. With FM you long press the backwards or forwards buttons to have the radio auto tune for you, which works well and then you can store stations in any the 20 FM presets available. With Bluetooth I was able to connect to my iPhone effortlessly and play - pause - control volume etc - great! Buttons are nicely laid out and there aren't so many that you lose track of which button does what. This was a problem with the M2+ (too many buttons, poor labelling) but the IR1 has only 2 rows of 5 buttons and you do easily get to remember the button functions for operating in a darkened room. If I didn't have an issue with the misleading picture regarding batteries and the fact that I had to replace the supplied faulty cable with my own, then this radio would be getting a full 5 stars from me! Particularly at this price, with all the features you get and the ability to use the UNDOK app, I can really recommend this radio. It beats the Pure Elan IR3 hands down as an internet radio in my experience - non of the terrible connection issues I experienced with the Elan IR3 and better sound quality. S very pleased with the functionality and portability of the Lemega IR1. Hoping that it will continue to please for some time to come!

Simple for the elderly.
What a simple and brilliant product. I needed to connect to a local radio station in London. Bought the product, turned it on connected it to wifi, did a couple of searches for the channel, saved it into presets. All I have to do now is switch the device on and it goes straight to my preset channel. Simple one button operation. To switch on and off and increase volume. Love it. Only issue maybe is it comes with micro usb cable 1m long and adapter and not USB C. But not a great issue. Enjoy.

Wish it had a remote.
Tiny. So it's perfect for bedside. And it is LOUD. Only need the volume on 4 or 5. I prefer a remote with my radios but I don't want a large unit so I've had to compromise and get this one and set it up using the dial knob rather than a remote which would make the process easier. I only use internet radio so I cannot comment on FM or DAB. And I keep my radio plugged into the mains so I cannot review battery life. Connecting to wifi is easy. Just select setup wizard and when prompted press the wps button on your router and it does it all automatically. I know which stations I want so I just select 'search' and type in the name of the station and a list comes up. Use scroll wheel to get the one desired then when it pops up on screen push the wheel gently in to confirm its the right station, and then press it in again to play the station. You can set as a favourite by pressing and holding the 1, 2 and 3 buttons. The number 3 button gives option of more presets. This all takes ages without a remote but once your faves are preset, it's easy enough to switch between them. I've used the sleep timer and alarm and both worked fine. I'm now in my bedroom in the UK listening to a station from the USA. I've had radios costing over £100 and they were no better than this one in sound quality. I just had to return one because it developed a fault after a week! The build quality on this is a bit plasticky but I want a functioning internet radio/sleep timer/alarm not a piece of furniture. So far so good - and there is way more room on my bedside table than there would be with those huge wooden ones. I've deducted a star because the display screen doesn't show song name or artist of the currently playing song which is a facility I have on other radios and I find it useful. Fingers crossed this lasts longer than previous other brands. EDITED TO ADD I have removed another star. It switches off after 15 minutes. I checked the sleep timer in case that was set to a timed switch off but it is set to OFF so it should play constantly until I switch it off. Very annoying.

very good small smart radio
I was looking for a smart radio that has DAB, Internet radio and Bluetooth for my work desk at home.. most of options came up as being too pricey. Thats when i came across this lemega IR1. For the price, it is a very good option. The build quality is good. I got the grey/white version which looks good on my desk which is white. It has got a nice weight which is good as it is stable on the desk. I am satisfied with the sound quality, it is clear for the small room. I use the internet radio and bluetooth mostly and both work well. The undok application that you can download also works with this radio, but the controls on the radio itself is good enough for the occasional searching of internet radio stations, recalling saved stations, etc. I dont live in an area where the DAB reception is great, so as expected the DAB radio reception is not the best, (putting up the antenna does help to an extent) and a scan does not return all the stations (my car radio seems to find more stations somehow) overall i am satisfied considering the price point and the features which i wanted all in a small package!
