Reconyx HyperFire General Surveillance Camera, Grey, SC950

The Reconyx SC950 Camera is supposed to be a covert camera that puts off no IR light and takes great photos. I am happy to report that the camera does just that. We put the camera up on a pole, and mounted it in a high security box we bought separately directly from Reconyx. The camera has a few settings, including settings for how sensitive the motion sensor is, or options to schedule the photos. We have the camera set to high sensitivity, and have been impressed with the fact that it has had no false positives when it comes to motion sensing. The camera takes great photos day or night, and it is impossible to tell there is a camera there at all since it does not put off any IR illumination. Overall, the camera is worth the money if you need a true covert camera that takes great night photos.

For the price paid I am very disappointed with the photos taken at night. I purchased this for security purposes and it does not meet my expectations for night surveillance. The images are very grainy beginning at a distance of about 30 feet and unrecognizable at about 50 feet and beyond. Spend your money on a more reliable security device.
