Seems like a great adapter but does not support Pixel 8
I've purchased UGreen stuff before. The metal housing is nice. Build quality seems great and like the cable would hold up against frequent flexing. Unfortunately, it does not support Pixel 8. My Pixel 8 wouldn't recognize the adapter. Their buyer guide says it won't work with Pixel 6/7 and nothing about Pixel 8 so I decided to try it. It didn't work with my phone so I returned it.

Works great for Samsung S23...DOES NOT WORK for iPhone 16 Pro
I got this for an iPhone 16 for use in an older car to listen to music while charging the phone. Neither worked. (Minus 1 star for this!) [Belkin Rockstar works perfectly on an iPhone 16 though] I plugged it into a Samsung S23 and both charging and audio out worked perfectly. It plays audio clearly while charging - No hiss or noise, just clean sound with or without a charger attached. Unfortunately, it does not pass 'super fast charging', only 'fast charging'. Although, that is still perfectly acceptable for most applications. One very positive thing is that this does NOT have that annoying 'fade up volume' every time there is silence or a pause in the audio. This is the first USB-C to headphone adapter I've owned that lets me hear an audiobook properly without having to run a frequency generator in the background to keep the headphone amplifier inside the adapter active.

UGREEN vs Belkin USB-C adapter
I have both the "UGREEN USB C to 3.5mm Headphone and Charger Adapter" (this item) and the "Belkin RockStar 3.5mm Audio with USB-C Charge Adaptor". The goal was to find which adapter is better. I'm not a professional tester, but do have some gear to run basic tests. TEST SETUP: 1x Galaxy S23 Ultra (phone, and audio source + recorder) 1x Sennheiser PC360 headset 1x Sennheiser PCV 05 Combo Audio Adapter (to convert headset and mic cord into one TRRS connector) 1x UGREEN adapter (this item) 1x Belkin Rockstar adapter (comparison audio + charge adapter) CHARGE AND AUDIO FEATURE TESTING: I tested each plugged into my phone. After testing, both USB-C adapters can deliver both Audio and Charge at the same time. They can also deliver just Charge, or just Audio, if that's all you have plugged in. Both charged my phone at the "Fast Charge" speed (see Note at the bottom). They both accept TRRS-style headphone jack input, to use a microphone with your headset (or corded earbuds if they have a mic). Audio output sounds the same across adapters. I tried a video, and also a music app. I also recorded my voice into the phone, ensuring that the phone used USB audio for the audio source by using the cutout switch on my headset's mic, and seeing if audio stopped. My voice sounds the same across adapters. I am curious if they use the same DAC/AMP audio chipset, however I don't have professional test gear, and also don't want to disassemble the adapters. The only difference in performance I noticed is the UGREEN takes a few seconds longer to initiate charging the phone, but it charges at the same speed as the Belkin, on my phone. IMPROVEMENTS: The UGREEN's aluminum case is a bit sharp on the back, it would be nice to adjust the manufacturing to eliminate this. NOTE: There are a lot of standardized charging speeds, and each phone model / device has different compatible speeds. The charging speed for phones and other USB-C devices depends on each link in the USB chain. All devices must be compatible with a specified speed. The charger itself must be compatible with a speed. The USB cable to the device must also be compatible with that speed. Lastly, the device needing charging must be compatible with that charging speed. This is because USB-C charging is dependent on communication between the charger, the cable, and the device. When adding these adapters to the charging chain, the adapters must also be compatible with that speed. Each link in the charging chain communicates their maximum charging speed, (even USB-C cables) and the lowest upper limit found is the chosen charging speed.

Avoid. Defective, straight out of the box.
Defective. Avoid this product. Audio jack did/does not work--no connection with headphones., no sound. Returned the Ugreen adapter to Amazon via a local UPS Store drop off. Soon after UPS scanned my return, I received a credit into my Amazon account. Note: Amazon issues a credit when UPS notifies them that they have scanned the return bar code. Approximately 6 weeks later I received a notice from Amazon that they did not received my return and were charging my credit card for the original purchase price. It appears that UPS lost my return, or Amazon lost it. But I am the one who lost money. Very disappointed with Ugreen and Amazon.

Works with Samsung Note 20 Ultra
I recently got a Samsung Note 20 Ultra which does not have a headphone port. As usual Amazon had a remedy and this is the one I bought. I'm using this in a 04' Jeep with a non bluetooth headunit that I use a bluetooth FM modulator with. While the bluetooth usually works fine occasional it gets spotty and I end up plugging it in directly..... Which does sound better. What I like about this and the new phone is I can leave it plugged in and simply select the audio out I want in the moment. Very easy! No more fumbling with the little 3.5 jack when I want to use it. Nope! Just drop the menu and change the outlet. So nice to plug in one thing instead of two. Much cleaner. As for the device it feels nice in the hand and seems to be well made. It is also only a few inches long which I also like. It's enough to grab and plug in but not enough to be a pain. As I saw in another review plug the two cords into this before plugging it into the phone.

Works well for listening and calls - good microphone volume
I used this adapter on a Samsung S10+ (which has a 3.5mm jack) and a Samsung S23 Ultra. All of these comments apply to both the S10+ and the S23 Ultra and the earbuds used were the Senheiser CX80S earbuds which include a microphone: Quick Charge using a QC 3.0 charger works When the adapter is plugged in to the phone audio will only switch to the headphones when there are headphones plugged in which is a plus because it works like a phone with a built-in headphone does. The control buttons on the earbuds worked (play/pause and track forward/reverse). The microphone volume for calls worked well, other adapters I tried with the same earbuds and phones resulted people not being able to hear me well enough to be used (audio through microphone was too low) this adapter didn't have that problem. It's a bit expensive compared to other models but I'm happy with the performance and would recommend it.

Charger noise not filtered from headphone output
The good: It sort of works, in that you can plug in both a charger and headphones into a single USB-C port and if used independently, both charging and headphones will work. The bad: There's serious line noise bleed from the DC power lines into the headphone output. I bought this to use with my Oneplus 8 Pro in my car. The setup is 12V DC cigarette USB charger -> Phone, then headphone out -> car radio aux in. I've used this in the past with no issues, but with this adapter there's a constant hiss that comes out of the car speakers on medium volume if the charger is plugged in. It's loud enough to render it practically unusable - not painfully loud, but it won't be drowned out by whatever you play through it either. The hiss changes frequency in lockstep with engine RPM, and isn't affected by phone volume at all. I'm not entirely certain what the cause of this is, I suspect it's some sort of ground loop happening between the power coming from the charger and the car radio aux input. It only happens with this adapter though - I've used several other phones with built in headphone jacks and it's never been an issue. I'm therefore blaming the adapter and replacing it with a different model. FWIW I tested the adapter with headphones using a traditional wall charger and can't hear any noise, so it might be ok for your purposes.
