Works, Under Certain Circumstances
If you use spacers, then you would have to use something else to pry off the easier-to-remove of your two bearings on a wheel, then use this to remove the more troublesome one. If you have wheels where the bearings fall out just by tipping it to one side, then you do not need this tool. What I use for prying purposes is just the spinner handle for a 1/4 inch drive socket set, the thing that has like a screwdriver looking handle when you don't need the ratchet quite yet, while tightening a nut or bolt. To be honest, I did read, before I ordered it, in the description, a vague sort of reference to people who do not use spacers. Let me give my interpretation of what is the underlying reality to this statement: You cannot grab ahold of the inner side of the bearing, inside the wheel hub, with this tool's protruding retractable end balls, if there is a spacer in between the bearings.

Two Thumbs up!
I love my skates to bits so I want to ensure that they are taken care of properly. I don't like the idea of pulling the bearing off from the wheels using the skate's axel because I don't want to damage the grit. The bearing puller makes my life easier, works well even on the light up wheels with dynamo in the middle.p.s. the dynamo makes it slightly difficult because the stopper is disable by its presence, but at least you don't have to use your axel on your trucks to remove these bearing.

Parts get loose and fall out BUT it gets the job done for cheap
One of the two metal balls keeping falling out that are used to push/pull. It got the job done on two pairs of roller skates BUT was a pain in the butt to find the tiny metal ball when it would continually fall out. I used to put reds bearings into 98a team rollerbones wheels and it was pretty easy. I haven’t had the need to remove and bearings yet so I’m not sure how it would hold up for pulling bearings. I went ahead and purchased a sure-grip bearing press immediately after using this hand tool. It does what it’s supposed to do so that’s what’s really important but it was disappointing to have it fall apart every other wheel I replaced.

Broke on the third wheel.
First time I used it, got 2 wheels in. On the third it came apart completely. Wtf? Requested a replacement on Amazon, I'm curious to see if mine was just defective and this might actually hold up but based on the reviews here, they don't tend to hold up. Seems strange a tool made for pulling bearings can't stand up to actually pulling bearings....

Not as useful as you might think
I bought it for boys with multiple skateboards and longboards. Not useful when there is a a spacer in between the bearings, which perhaps may be all the time. So it's only useful if you don't use spacers in your wheels between the bearings. If you have the spacer, there's no grip and the tool doesn't help at all.Putting bearings in are easy, you don't really need the tool. So it's only helpful in the only instance of taking bearings out in wheels with no spacer. So buy it if you need it just for that. For how often we do so, it's not quite worth it for us, cuz they can still pry it off at an edge off another skateboard truck. It's a nice tool though but for us, of only limited utility and value.

Ball bearing fell out after having for one week
I really love the concept for this tool. It's lightweight, small, and easy to carry around. But if it doesn't work, it doesn't matter how great the concept is. One of the two retractable ball bearings fell out after I used it on two sets of wheels. I asked for a replacement, but it seems like this is a common issue. I don't understand how this is a Bones product but they can't get the holes machined for the size of bearing they use, or get the right size bearing for the holes they machined.I'd recommend opting for a bearing press or just using your axle, both would be more reliable than this puller. :(

Fantastic Tool for Shielded Bearings
Loooooove! Now that I have the proper bearings anyway. They won't work on the sealed bearings that came with my skates. But they work perfectly for the bones bearings I just bought. Not sure what it was exactly that kept it from working on the other bearings. But the only structural difference between the two is that the ones I replaced were sealed completely with metal on both sides, and the new ones have removable shields over the bearings on both sides. It just didn't want to grab the sealed bearings.

Bearing replacement is a cinch now!
I used to dread pulling bearings out of my wheels. It took several minutes of careful tapping so I wouldn’t dent my shields. Now, I can pull all the bearings in a matter of seconds. More importantly, my bearings no longer risk damage.

Almost essential for all skaters
Do you skateboard in the UK? If so this should be considered an essential purchase to aid maintaining your bearings. Sure, you can use your truck axel to wiggle out bearings however, this just makes life so much easier.Genuinely surprised at how much I've enjoyed using this tool and how much easier it is than the old axel hack.

This eon't pull bearings if there's a spacer in the ...
This eon't pull bearings if there's a spacer in the wheel because the tool can't get purchase behind the bearing. As Bones supply spacers with all their bearings this is very odd. Other than that, OK.

Not suitable for removing some bearings
Worked great at inserting my bearings into my luminous wheels, but cannot use to remove the bearings due to the spacer required to illuminate the wheels.

Roller Derby Must Have
So much easier than what I was doing before! If like me you play roller derby and switch your wheels out for different floors it'll save you a lot of time.

Pulls bearings.
Way back when in the early 90s everyone used to use a screwdriver or use their truck axles to pry their bearings out of their wheels. These days due to better maufacturing tolerances and metal hubs on skate wheels this just isn't possible.I bought this tool to remove my bones bearings from my metal hubbed Faster Skates wheels, does exactly that. So what used to take 15mins now takes 5mins and no damage to the threads of my truck axles no more.Happy days. Best invention ever.
