Bird Spikes, 304 Stainless Steel, 9 Pcs, 10.2 Ft (3.1 m)

I keep a LOT of plants, and where I’m at is basically a bird sanctuary. It’s quiet, lots of trees, no predators, and plenty of folks with bird feeders. For whatever reason they love my porch (I guess my the plants) and every year they hang out on my plant stands and SCREAM at each other, hormones blazing, territories to be disputed... That doesn’t bother me at all and my cats love it, but what bothers me is they crap all over all of my plants underneath them while they do it. By the end of summer it’s literally insane.. they still perch on the cages I use, and that’s on me to find a better system, but this is the only thing I’ve found that keeps them from covering absolutely everything in bird poop. It doesn’t solve the problem 100% but that’s because of the cages they can sit on anyway, but the difference between the spiked ones they can get on and the ones they can’t is huge. I bought some last year, and ended up needing three more and didn’t hesitate to get them again. Are they the most pleasant thing to look at? Hell no. But it’s better to look at them than have to deal with handling my plants covered in bird poop when I need to pot them or bring them in to avoid rain or for the winter. And listen guys.. I’m not exaggerating when I say my plants.. get.. COVERED!!! Also, they’re easy peasy to put together. I do wish there were two holes side by side where they have for nails or zip ties because attaching them to the bars would be way easier and uniform. Admittedly, I could probably make that myself, but do any of us really need ANOTHER thing to have to do in 2025? Overall, I definitely recommend.

Flocks of lovebirds now come to my feeders. One is mounted on a pole right behind my pool fence. Although the pigeons cannot land on the small feeder, that does not stop them from lining up on my pool fence. The result: pigeon dung all over my newly painted fence! These solve that problem. I did not want to move the feeder: the birds provide hours of entertainment for my cats which peer at them through the sliding door. I went with stainless steel as the Arizona sun eats anything plastic for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner along with in between meal snacks. The units are sturdy and the spikes snap into place securely. I will zip tie them on the fence now, but next year after the sun has destroyed the zip ties, I will wire them on. 10" section perfect for this area. Simple to assemble and install.

I bought these because we were having problems with pigeons, and they actually helped. They were a practical way to keep birds from landing where we didn’t want them. If you’re dealing with the same issue and want something straightforward, these are worth trying. For us, they did the job.

Good product, and they work very well. But please be aware that they DO require assembly, and it is tedious, time-consuming, and quite annoying. I bought the “10.5 foot” package, and it comes with 21 “plates”, and each plate has 20 sets of “spikes” that must be installed. That’s 420 spikes that have to be squeezed together and fed through two tiny holes, and then “popped” through to their final place. It took me hours, and I have a blister on my thumb. Just fair warning — be prepared to put in the work. But if you do, I think you’ll be very happy with the end result. OH, and it’s great that they’re st. steel — I bought some a couple of years ago that were PVC, and the sun eventually destroyed them. That’s why I bought these — the sun (and rain) won’t bother them at all.

The first two pictures are from 4 years ago and the last one shows the spike deterrents. In 2021 a pair of Robins built a nest on top of one of the lights that are on either side of the door on the front porch of my house. (See Picture #1)I had my doubts whether or not it would survive because of going in and out the door with the dog for walks and, of course, the frequent visit from the Amazon drivers. They constructed a nice looking nest, laid and hatched 3 eggs, but in a short time it was apparent that these were not the best nest builders. In the first picture you can see one of the chicks in pin feathers and one of the parents. Cozy looking, but the nest was actually tilting off to the side. I had to wire it to the fixture, but in no time it was apparent that this wasn't the fix it needed. It started to fall apart, baby chicks fell out, hitting the cement hard from 6' up. The babies were scooped up and put back in the nest, but the one chick was considerably larger than the other two and I suspect it was kicking the smaller ones out. Eventually the smaller ones disappeared. The nest fell off the light; I replaced it. Finally, I just got a silk fern in a pot on a raised stool to hold the nest (with my dog's cone of shame to keep the squirrels away) and the parents fed the surviving chick until it fledged. Not wanting to repeat this scenario, when evidence of nesting showed up this year, the material was removed. And the birds replaced it. I tried to put sticky tape on top of the fixture, but the birds removed it and replaced it with more nesting material. So I found these spikes and put them where the nesting materiel was being placed. The next day, there was no activity! The day after that, there was a string of foliage in the spikes, but they gave up and went to the light on the other side of the door! Now that one is also wearing a crown. These sure seem like they are going to be the fix I needed. But, these Robins are apparently very smart and determined! These were easy to put together and adhere to the light fixtures, wrapping around the part in back of the light that attaches to the house. What's nice about them is that while they are effective from the get go, they aren't obtrusive looking from the sidewalk and street.

Play Steeze in the corners of my gazebo, and above a light fixture on my front porch. Seems to be the only thing that will keep the birds away. They are lightweight, durable, and priced well.

These bird spikes are easy to install and the stainless steel base feels durable. They help discourage some birds from landing, but they are not completely effective for every type of bird. The coverage area is also smaller than expected, so I needed more pieces than I originally planned. Overall, they work reasonably well but have some limitations.

I will try to be as honest as possible because I depend on other people's reviews and feel I want to help the best I can: I had guttering installed a few years ago and there is one 3' length that goes underneath an overhang from a different roof. I never imagined that birds would love that protected spot on the end on my guttering and decided to build a nest in it every spring. I have discovered birds are persistent also. I would come home in evening from work, hear or see birds building a nest. I would go get my 8' step ladder from the barn, climb it and destroy the nest. Then I go inside the house, relax, eat supper and maybe later go outside before bedtime and the nest was half built again. I realized they were finding the nesting materials and reusing them. So I trashed the nesting materials. That just slowed them but didn't stop them. Every spring and every summer, twice per year I had this hassle. I got tired of hauling my heavy step ladder out twice per day. I drew up an elaborate cage thing I was going to build out of rat wire that would allow the rain to still enter the gutter but block the birds. It seemed like a big project until I happened to see this item on Amazon. I thought I'd give it a try and I bought it and a tube of silicone caulk/adhesive to stick it in there tightly. Imagine my happy surprise when I realized this item fits inside guttering so perfectly that I did not need the silicone to hold it in place. It almost snapped inside the guttering and does not move or give when pushed against. It's been 3 years now since I installed it and I've not had a single bird make an attempt to build a nest. In fact last year a bird started building a nest inside my carport right on top of a 4x4 post. Really ? They can fit in the smallest places. Had same problem and went and got one of these from my package because I didn't need to use all of what comes in the package for my gutter. This time a single screw into the top of the 4x4 post and no more bird nests there either. I like and recommend. Good Luck.

Ok.

Funcionan perfectamente para mantener los balcones limpios. El acero inoxidable es de muy buena calidad, resistente a la intemperie. Instalación sencilla y muy efectivos contra palomas sin ser peligrosos para otras aves.

Really happy with these bird spikes. They feel sturdy, are easy to install and cover a good area. They work well for keeping birds away.

These are fantastic. They are well made, and they really work well. We had around 20-30 crows and magpies hanging around and crapping all over our deck, fence and yard. put these up and are yard and deck are free of all bird crap. They tried to land at first, but realised they couldn't and now they all stay away. Crows are both smart and like shiny items, I have read where they will pull these off if they can for nest material, so the best way to mount them is to screw them down. It is a tedious job assembling them, but I realise it would be impossible to ship assembled, but you get in a rhythm and it goes quickly. Being made of stainless steel, they stand up to the elements and are strong and durable. They are plenty high enough for large birds, I highly recommend these if you are having issues with birds. An added bonus is it keeps squirrels off the fence and deck rails and out of the flower boxes!
