You just scroll through things. Once in a while up comes something that looks like it’s almost a perfect solution so you go for it. When it arrives is it actually as great a solution as you hoped? And sometimes it is. This product is one of those. I needed added weight for a 21” square umbrella base. I didn’t want raw sandbags. These are 18”. They seem very well made of tough-looking nylon (I think) . And 50 lbs of good dry sand just filled each of these up. I lined these with a heavier gauge plastic bag (garbage compactor liners, 2 mil, not gigantic) and put in the sand. 50 lbs in the plastic bag liner just filled it to capacity and it zipped ok. In the blurb it suggests a 50 lb bag of sand might just drop in these bags. Maybe some but the sand I bought was in the wrong shaped bag to fit. The filled bags sit on the umbrella base just right. They are even made with an inset to go around the pole base. I do NOT suggest wetting the sand for a few extra lbs of weight. This product is not meant to be water-tight and I doubt the plastic bag I used as a liner is either. The price is good for what seems well made and well designed. 100 total lbs adds substantially to tipping resistance and stability. I might have selected a wider base, which would help. Wind will apply substantial tipping force to umbrellas , especially wide ones. Probably best to furl it if breezy. Review: Works great! - This is working great and would recommend to others! Filled large ziplock bags with sand and then put sandbags inside base. ## Features - NO MORE TIPPING ON WINDY DAYS. Filled large ziplock bags with sand and then put sandbags inside base. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty good and Strudy *by D***. on May 12, 2024* These are pretty good strong material. Could be stronger but definitely not the super cheap thin material. I like that the handle straps actually go all the way down and accross to the other handle and not simply seen to the side of the bag. This makes it much less likely to rip off. I kinda wish the zipper was higher or on top of the bag, but instead it's about an inch below the top on the side. Zipper looks like strong plastic or cheap metal (not really sure) but because it's a slightly bigger zipper it looks sturdy. The adding extra gravel I was able to get each bag to 45lbs. You can't put much more. Now my only problem is for cantilever umbrellas you cannot use them how they are intended. I had to lay each bag along the leg of the base in order to make it sturdy enough. You can just put it around the post (see pictures) but is not as sturdy and the edge up the base lifts up a little. Would recommend thought. I'm thinking of buying another set for my 15'x9' umbrella with center post. ## Frequently Bought Together - BaseMate Square Umbrella Base Weight, 18" ~ Fits Any Offset, Cantilever & Any Outdoor Patio Umbrella Stand ~ Easy Set up (Detachable) - BaseMate Umbrella Base Weights | Outdoor Fillable Sand Bags for Weight | Weatherproof Patio Furniture Weights | 2 SandBags for 49 lb. | Arched Sand Bags to Hold Down Umbrella Stand & Outdoor Furniture - OYOCO Patio Umbrella Light 3 Brightness Modes Cordless 28 LED Lights-4 x AA Battery Operated,Umbrella Pole Light for Patio Umbrellas,Camping Tents or Indoor Use --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/217489597-18-umbrella-base-weight-fits-offset-cantilever-and-outdoor-patio](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/217489597-18-umbrella-base-weight-fits-offset-cantilever-and-outdoor-patio) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-19*
