Core i5-4460 LGA 1150 CPU - BX80646I54460

I purchased this CPU as an upgrade from an AMD X4 860K and this has been quite an upgrade, I have noticed a performance increase of around 10-30 Frames Per Second in all games that I run on my current machine, this CPU has 4 high powered cores and 4 threads which make this a perfect CPU for games and light work loads, this CPU does start to struggle a little on multi-threaded workloads like Computer Aided Design programs and when editing high end videos and photos in programs like Sony Vegas and Adobe Photoshop and After Effects, because this CPU lacks a higher thread count and Hyper-Threading, but this CPU really gets to flex its muscles and show its true potential in games where this CPU is perfect. If you are looking for a mid-range gaming CPU, this CPU is definitely worth the price tag, unless you want to overclock your i5 and get more performance out of it I would go for something like a 4690K which is around $40 more, but in other words I highly recommend this product.

This was an intel Core i5-4460 used in a box with a cooler sold by itrade for 72.99 as this is an old chip i'm not going to review it directly except to say its really not useful for modern games. Instead I wanted to take a moment to review the seller since this was a used item. I was a bit wary of buying a used CPU. The only new one I could find was at double the price. So I took a chance and itrade came through with flying colors. I got the CPU in what looks like its original box with a CPU cooler and they even added thermal paste (Kudos! A small thing but shows attention to detail). It was a perfect replacement for my intel core i3 to give my home workstation new life after its upgrade from windows 7 to windows 10 really took more power than my i3 had. I swapped out the i3 for the i5 and its been running continuously for a week without issue. Infact, its running on the very machine I am using to write this review. Good Job guys!

First of all, I love this processor. It has been a great piece of hardware for a very reasonable price. My computer is nothing special, I built it on a budget to mostly do homework and a some video game playing on light video games and this processor has been able to do everything I've needed with ease. Second of all, I had a heck of a time getting this part, but not because of Amazon. USPS was supposed to deliver this item and they lost it even though they marked it as delivered. I was looking forward to receiving this and was hanging out by the door on the day it was supposed to be delivered and I got a notification from Amazon stating that the package had been delivered, but nothing was at my home. I worked with customer service and they were very cordial and helpful and helped me get the situation straightened out with the carrier to get my product.

Got this to replace a G3258 in my work desktop and immediately the system was a lot peppier and my system runs a lot better. Even at 3.2Ghz vs the 4.0 I was running on the G3258, the extra cores make a HUGE difference. Not running any games on the system, more for production and work than games, although I'd imagine the chip would work well with a $100 graphics card to play around 720p....maybe 1080p for less demanding titles

Although this Core i5 is an older LGA1150, 4400 series, it is still significantly faster than the i3 that I replaced. I performed various benchmark tests on the old system before removing the i3, then again with the i5, and the increased CPU speed is dramatic. About 40% - 50% faster (score of 3000 vs 7000, respectively). Wow. And for the same price that I paid for the i3 (which I don't know why I ever even bothered buying). As far as real-world application goes, the performance of 1080p video projects in Adobe Premiere Pro CC has greatly increased, with multiple layers of effects, as well as 3D programs such as 3DS Max and Blender. Well worth the upgrade, especially since it takes less than 5 minutes to swap out the old for the new.

Very impressed by intel once again. I'm not giving 5 stars because it worked, It was better than expected. The Intel graphics 5000 that was included as integrated worked flawlessly and was surprisingly powerful. I had a graphics card on the way already but it honestly would work for gaming if you didn't play intensive fps gmes like battlefield or other AAA titles. Great cpu for the price, the amount it could handle at once was impressive, combined with older ssd my windows 7, boot up time is about 5 seconds from completely dead power cord removed. Would recommend to others but intel's skylake is coming out sometime in the next few days so watch for that

I upgraded from a Phenom II X6 to this after my PSU fried my mobo. So far, I absolutely love it. Even going from 6 to 4 cores, the quality is amazing. Granted, I use it for gaming mostly, so anything more than 4 cores (as of 2014) is useless for gaming. I use a SSD and strongly advise it, as I can boot up and load a browser in probably 16 seconds. Seriously, ridiculously responsive. I have been making my own compuiters ofr over 15 years, and never experienced something so fast as this. Love it.

I had a problem with this when I originally installed it with the easy clip on heatsink fan that came with it.it was performing sluggishly and was noisy.I opened the back to find that the heatsink fan had come undone and couldn't be reinserted.So I replaced it with the original heatsink fan that came with the desktop processor.it used screws to keep it in place and is much more secure.Since then,it has been working top notch.Its quick and I am getting very acceptable fps on the mmo that I play on.

This processor is quite impressive. For a processor with a locked clock it still delivers good performance. It may be quite outdated but it could still handle most of new games with ease. The CPU temperatures are also quite stable and good. It could go upto 3.4 ghz with turbo boost. Most recently I played Battlefield-1 with this processor, combined with a gtx-960 and 8 gigs of ram. I was quite surprised the game ran with ultra graphics at 60fps.

Great way to go if you're looking for an i5 that performs well but doesn't brake the bank, great for gaming and perfect desktop solution, 1150 boards are cheap, so can be bundled with other components for a cheap overall gaming or desktop pc. Would highly recommend, very pleased with this product :) box comes with a stock cooler with pre applied paste would recommend your own paste as the pre installed one wont be great quailty. The turbo boost feature is only specific to mother boards that support it and overclocking can be done but would recommend a better cooler then the stock one. This cpu has 4 cores and 4 threads, single core performance is much like the i3s but multicore performance is where the difference between i3 and i5 shows. This cpu will out perform most if not all amd variants such as fx6300 and 8350 i believe its called, however the higher core count of the amd cpus mean better rendering etc, but for gaming this i5 wins out. I am very happy with its performance would definitely recommend this cpu :)

Monté en remplacement d'un I3 4170, cadencé à 3,7, comme il est accompagné d'un disque dur NVMe de 250 Gb, et disposant d'un module graphique 4600, une extrême rapidité est au rendez-vous malgré son cadencement initial à 3,2 GHz. La carte mère Asrock Z97 est parfaite pour accueillir un tel processeur qu'elle exploite au maximum. Pour un meilleur rendu acoustique, une carte Asus Xonar Essence STX accouplée à un bon ampli et le vrai quatre cores assure sans difficultés plusieurs tâches en parallèle sans aucun ralentissement. La surprise vient de la température du processeur qui se stabilise autour de 35° sans jamais avoir de gros écarts. Le ventilateur réglé dans le bios en "silencieux" s'avère donc suffisant bien qu'étant celui fourni par Intel. Ayant essayé depuis de remplacer le ventilateur par un radiateur de dissipation, sans ventilateur, le processeur monte un peu en température et se stabilise autour de 55°, le tout dans un silence total. Comme d'habitude Amazon a livré avec un jour d'avance sur ce qui était prévu bien que cela provienne d'Ecosse. Trés satisfait.

以前より使っていた自作パソコンが壊れてしまい新しいのを作ってくれということで、購入（他のパーツの中の一つ）安心ブランドなので、今も４ヶ月以上稼働させてるそうですが快調との事です。パーツは安いのだけで構成もまた良いと思いますが、値段は少し高くなっても長く使いたい場合におススメです。
