Dell ST2210 21.5-Inch 16:9 Aspect Ratio Flat Panel Monitor (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

As other reviewers have noted, this is a very good monitor for the money ($160). I received it yesterday and got it working immediately. The CD that comes with it and contains instructions is useless - not that you'll need it. One thing momentarily confused me: when I noticed the monitor had an "audio in" plug I assumed the monitor had integrated speakers, but it doesn't. It's a minor thing, and just struck me as odd. Can't say anything at present about how long this monitor will hold up, but my luck with most Dell products has been pretty good so far.

21 months after purchase, a flashing pad lock showed up on the screen and no amount of effort or research on line has enabled me to fix this, despite numerous suggestions. The flashing pad lock is a known problem going back at least 3 years. Type "flashing pad lock" in Google to confirm this. I think it is strictly a hardware, not software problem, maybe associated with the settings switches on the edge of the unit. Today the monitor quit entirely. Of course it is beyond the 1 year limited hardware warranty. If all you want is one year from a nice desktop display, this unit is fine. If you think it should last longer than a year, look elsewhere.

I've had this monitor for a couple of months now. I don't want to jinx myself but this monitor is still going good. I don't need any high-def stuff. I just wanted a decent monitor and I'm OK with this so far. Price was on sale when I got it though made it better.

I got it today, and it works perfectly:-easy to set up-bright-fully support 1080HD (1920x1080)-work with HDMI nicely-perfectly fit for readers or long-time-using users with anti-glare.-cheap for its quality!!Con: no other feature comes with it (I do not care because I buy a monitor, so I expect it to work as a monitor, not as a speaker, webcam, and such)

The first one I bought directly through DELL. Loved it so much that I bought another... even with me jumping platforms from PC (hate Dell anymore) to Apple, I still am going to buy another of these monitors. Great clarity. No buzz (I am very sensitive to sound). Great price.

Bought this in 2010 and it's still going. No issues. That's a pretty excellent run for a monitor!

I own 2 of these in a dual screen display. They are both about a year old. About 3 months ago I noticed the monitor on my left (HDMI) randomly dimming depending on my mouse location. I've never messed with its settings, I just unboxed, hooked up and left it alone. Then a week ago I noticed a bright spot appear on the right monitor (DVI) just in front of where the power cable hooks up.Today I looked over and saw that the bright spot is now a black spot with a pink border. Its circumference is about the size of a quarter, and if I fit a quarter up to it for comparison it would be like the top 1/3rd of the quarter is peeking up over the bottom bezel.These monitors were awesome but to have 2 of them start exhibiting these problems in just under 1 year. Makes me want to cry.

I'm guessing no one wants to buy this monitor, but I bought 2 in 2010 and they are still going strong in my home office after daily use and 2 years of pandemic-induced WFH. I was looking to upgrade just to get something newer/bigger/flashier, but after looking at prices on new monitors I'm not so sure....
