The People of the River's Mouth: In Search of the Missouria Indians (Missouri Heritage Readers) (Volume 1)

Great book and great condition.
This is an outstanding book with much more detail about the Missouria and other Indian nations. I especially needed information about the Missouri and Illinois fauna, especially bison, before EuroAmerican settlers and the author did an excellent job of providing information about Indian hunts and French and Spanish explorers, traders and trappers accounts. I highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed learning about the history of the Missouri Indians and what their name means. The book described a number of possibilities.

Vivid History
While I'm embarrassed by the way the European-Americans treated the native born Indians, I enjoyed reading the history of the Missouria and Otoe tribes.
