Works as it should. Obviously, it'll heat up a smaller tank of water faster than a larger tank.

this unit works like a charm. with solar charged battery power this immersion water heater brings water up to 120° F in about half an hour in a seven gallon bucket. left on it climbs to 160° F .easy

I had a use for this in an application not originally meant for it.After doing some math, this calculated out to get hotter than it actually did. It only got to about 230F before shutting off (or failing, not sure witch) and i needed it to get to 450f.After it shut off, i didn't check to see if it still worked or not, and tossed it aside then and there. So i don't know if i fried it, or if it has an internal shut off.If used in correct application, you should have an external thermostat for it anyways.

Great price for a 600w 12v diversion hot water load. Solar power nuts take note.I noticed "as per chief" had problems. You can't run a 600w load directly on a 365w solar panel efficiently. It drags the panel voltage WAY down causing a massive load/source mismatch and you won't get but a tiny fraction of your available 365w solar panel power. Use 2 solar panels at 600-800w and a diversion regulator. Still, even an insulated covered 220 gallon hot tub is going to take time to heat up. Better yet use 2 of these 600w (1200w plus 18v reserve power) elements and 1500w of solar panels. A full blown solar power system with battery banks regulators etc smarter still.

I was excited to use this. However it does not work at all. Unboxed it and the inner coil is rusted like it’s been used and returned. Figured it may had been a defect. When using the item and it makes a sizzling noise, thought that it was warming up in the water. I checked it 30 minutes later and the water was still as cold as when it came out of the faucet. The coil was cold as was the device. Returning as it was a definite waste of money.I was excited to use this. However it does not work at all. Works perfect going to make my own hot water tank and run it off batteries and solar.

Have not installed yet, but the product appears well made. Updates later.

It will be better if the screw was provided, didn't tell Max. Temperature protection function, yes or no? General good!
