Delsym® Children's Liquid - Orange 12/3 oz. (w/Dosage Cup)

This cough syrup is almost magical! 40 yrs ago I was finally (after endless doctor visits, tests, etc) diagnosed with a seasonal allergy which causes me to have a non stop, dry, hacking cough. I was prescribed & tried an endless list of asthma medications: cough syrups (prescription & over the counter), inhalers, nebulizer treatments, herbal remedies, steroids, antibiotics, etc. The only thing that silenced the cough...(for about 6 hrs) was 1 tsp of a very strong narcotic cough syrup. I was greatful to have found that method for relief, but I disliked the side effects, constant need to go to my doctor's office to get a refill prescription, even the cost. Somehow I found Delsym & it's a life saver! It really does quiet my cough for about 12 hrs, so I can get through a work day & sleep at night. Yes, it's more expensive than a generic "tussin" cough syrup but I take fewer doses & it really, really works! Some store chains have their own "generic" versions which are somewhat less expensive; if you find those, they seem to work as well as the brand name does. Both flavors have identical ingredients, even though the grape is marketed to be for children & the orange flavor for adults. If you need to calm a cough, and have the dose truly last for a while, I strongly suggest that you give this a try. Just remember to shake the bottle really well and measure exactly.

Very useful and working

Something about their extended-release formula just works the best out of all OTC cough syrups I've ever tried. Glad I took my friend's recommendation on it.Orange flavor tastes MUCH better than the grape, and Amazon had a much better price on it than our local stores.As far as I can tell, the children's formulation is identical to the adults', so we purchased this for grownups and just take the full adult 10ml dose. Works great. Will never be without a bottle of this in my medicine cabinet for flu season.
