Very precise and snappy
Having used this brush for a bit, it's reputation is well earned. The #12 perla has a wonderful point that always comes to a fine point. I can use this one brush throughout my painting to produce bold as well as fine brush strokes. The synthetic fibers have great snap that allows crisp transition between line thickness along a continuous stroke. This brush by its nature does not perform like natural hair...it is not suitable for large washes because it doesn't hold as much water and pigment as natural hair. What is does ,is releases pigment and water in a very precise and controlled fashion. The ULTIMO is more suited for washes and glazes...the PERLA for detail work and drawing. Also, the brush feels great in the hand.

My favorite watercolor brush
I have a lot of watercolor paint brushes from a lot of different manufacturers. This particular brush has surfaced as my favorite. It holds the right amount of water, the bristles don’t fall out as you paint, I get great paint coverage and the quality is better than some of my more expensive brushes. Great value for the money and this number 10 brush does it all. Comfortable in my hand; just the right size. This brush was recommended to me by other watercolorists and I will be purchasing more in other sizes and styles.

Great firm brush
I love this brush, I like firm brushes that aren’t floppy and this is perfect.

fair enough
For a Synthetic brush, is pretty fair enough. It holds the exact point shape even after hours of heavy use and provides a nice job with medium and fine details. No more than that.

Wow! Look at those lines!
I’ve been a fan of Escoda brushes for many years, and this one doesn’t disappoint. It doesn’t hold as much water as a Versatil, but the range of the brush strike from thick to thin is fantastic. Makes a line as fine as a rigger, even at a size 14.

Ist Class Watercolor Brushes,...
I have quite a collection of Princeton Aqua Elite Watercolor Brushes that I purchased within the last 6 months... which I totally love... but I needed a brush that could give me more fine detail control. I found the Escoda Perla #14 Synthetic highly recommended... so I decided to pony up... its around $35 dollars... but, let me tell you... it is a fine tuned work horse ... I included a video to help anyone appreciate this... I am a watercolorist and I have come to appreciate the importance of having the right tools and supplies to harness this beautiful meduim... Escoda as company is highly regarded and respected when it comes to artisan designed brushes... I am very impressed with this investment to my collection...

Great brush for springiness and shape holding with a really good point for fine detail.
These are excellent brushes for fine detail. Keep their shape well and plenty of spring whilst holding a fair bit of water so you don’t have to reload constantly.

Excellent petit pinceau
Comme mes deux autres pinceaux Escoda Perla, ce pinceau est excellent : fin et précis, il retient malgré tout plutôt bien l'eau. J'en suis très contente !
