Did they interview any of the former patients?
I think this was a very one-sided overview of The Lapeer State Home. My brother was placed there by his step-father when he was 7 years old and my brother's memories do not coincide with the authors. At 18 they basically gave him what little clothes he had and with practically no education and showed him the door. Thank God that horror pit got closed!

Interesting read
Very interesting read with a lot of great info. Only thing I wish I had more of was maps and the ones in the book to be labeled more. Other than that, it was a great read

Good Historical Book
A good historical book to read if you live in the Lapeer area. I took my kids to the actual location and showed them the pictures and explained what it use to be. I now know what the random pillars we drive past are and why they are there. This book was a quick read.
