2nd one I have used setup was easy and quick
This is the second one I used of these units, and it worked out great for the application. I needed ARC and CEC for a remote Yamaha surround receiver up to the main TV. The unit is kind of backward in a traditional way, and the instructions leave you wondering on which end the receiver and transmitter hoes. The sample in the instructions shows the TV and receiver both on the same side and a remote blu-ray player on the transmitter side. 99% of the time, you are trying to push video from a receiver to the TV and send back CEC control and audio via ARC to the surround receiver. I am not going to have 4K video up to the TV, but wanted to leave that option to the home owner should he decide to get a Blu-ray or send camera video to his main TV.

It works with ARC
This model worked for my use case where TV is connected to an AV receiver via:TV -> HDMI (ARC) -> HDBaseT Receiver -> Ethernet cable -> HDBaseT Transmitter -> HDMI -> AV receiver.Other models didn't work with ARC that's why I was not getting any audio.

Does not support cat7 cable??
very frustrated with this product and Orei support. First of all, you cannot get support on the phone, tried few times on 3/11 before dropping a note to [email protected]. They replied really fast (2 hours) but the suggestion was to try cat 6?? after 3 rounds of back an forth still have no clear answer as to why the cat7 cable purchased is not supported (flat cat7). There is clearly something fishy about Orei having tested with cat7 cables - they either do not support it flat out or not all cat 7 cables are supported... Either way, not clear yet, still expecting latest response from support and I'll post here the final outcome. For now anyone who wants to use/reuse cat 7 cable, you're taking a $269 + tax risk of wasting your money given that is product is intended for routing HDMI over distances and rerunning cables in wall through a house can be a big pain in the neck...+++++++Update from 3/16.Unlike some other reviewers who praised customer service, my experience is the opposite. The reason being is that my issues goes into a gray product area and they don't have a clear answer. Contrary to common sense and basics of technology support claims their product supports cat7 and blame no signal on the cable... while my testing at home shows cable does maintain the 1+Gbps bandwidthBottom-line, stay away from this product if you want to connect it with cat7. My take is it wasn't tested with cat7 cables (flat ones for sure, not sure about round ones), company won't admit it, support was slow and deflecting away.+++++++++++++++++

Simple and no loss of picture quality
This has been a good device since purchase and it appears we haven’t lost picture quality at all since it was installed. Truly a help with the wiring issue and good quality.

Verdict still not clear as I work with tech support
Product works great - when it is working. I periodically need to cycle the power on the device to get it to perform. I am working with company on resolution and they may send me another one.I connect OREI HDMI between a LG TV and a Sony receiver. I am using Cat5e on a short <25 foot run (already in wall so cannot be exchanged for Cat 6). I replaced an older component TV and my in wall component cables are useless with 2023 technology 4K. The OREI works at first. However, when I change my HDMI port (or go to the TV's built in smart TV apps) the OREI goes blank when I go back to its port and TV says no signal. When I cycle power on OREI, it comes back on. I also periodically need to cycle on initial power up.From playing with the devices, I am speculating that the OREI is going from sending video to the TV to sending audio back to the receiver (eARC) and that this is causing it to get "stuck". I say this because my LG TV will often label the port as eARC and not the Sony receiver or the Roku connected. Reseting power brings it back to square one, and it comes back on broadcasting HDMI video like it should.I will update this review when I learn more, but thought it might be helpful to others.

Works Great
For two years I was using a expensive system that did not perform that well. After almost giving up on the that devise, I seen the ad for the OREI ARC 4K ethernet extender. I made the purchase if it did not work I could return it.Shipping was fast, what was faster was setup 5 to 8 min at the most. It was able to from one device to another without any problems, my av rack is in a different location in the same room so I did not need the Rf cable.I have a Sony tv, Marantz 60 cinema, Panasonic Blu ray and Apple TV All 4k, dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision and 7.1 speaker systemI have to say that because the OREI ARC 4K ethernet extender can handle all the signals when my real expensive device could not. You can't go wrong with this extender.
