Excellent Resource for all things related to Pharmacology
Excellent Resource for all things related to Pharmacology. As an NP student, this is a valuable resource and contains very detailed comprehensive information about drugs and prescribing. I am very glad I got this, and know it will be well-used throughout the rest of my curriculum and after graduation as well! I chose this in particular because all the practitioners I work with use it, so I figured surely if it's good enough for all the providers, it must be spectacular! No doubt, this drug book is a phenomenal choice. I work in an ER, and even in my clinical settings, I have found myself using it daily!Get this, I also have Epocrates on my phone and I still like using this better. Sometimes, I think there is nothing that compares to a good old book, I think it still has more information, and I can find it easier. Epocrates does have some useful features, like drug pricing, but I really love this book and the both together, really supplement each other well. Don't count this book out!If you found my review at all helpful, it'd be wicked cool if you'd tap the "yes" button below. Thanks!

I am a PA student and I used this book every time I write a SOAP note after SP encounter. It has detail dosing info for different conditions that can be treated with the same drug. I will be using this book during clinical rotations later this year. It is sometimes better to look at a book then look at the phone in front of preceptors (who knows if you are actually reading text or reading epocrates on your phone). Highly recommended to all medical and PA students.

Great Book for the Medical Professional to Have Around if the Computers Go on Strike
In an age were the internet is at our fingertips and information is easy to obtain, I find that I turn to this book more frequently then I do the computer. It does not take long to look for a medication, they are divided in speciality or just look in the index. It may take the same amount of time to look for medication in this book, compared to turning on the computer but it is nice not having a sensory overload with all the information a internet search can present. A benefit of owning a book as there are many; is it may decrease the overall time you have to stare at a computer screen daily, never crashes or will not turn on/open because of technical difficulties, something to write on or use as a step stool when you need only 2 inches more to reach the medical supplies at the top of the supply closet

Couldn't work without it!
I get a new one of these every year or two, wouldn't practice without it. It gives me ALL the information I need, pregnancy category, breast-feeding safe or not, dosing, available forms. They use dollar signs to try and estimate pricing, which is the least helpful thing, but I love the charts for flu dosing, contraceptives, asthma mess, and so many others. I seriously use this multiple times every work day, and like the bigger size so I can read it easily as well.

Fairly large so I leave it at my desk/workstation in the ED or in my bag, but it has lots of information. I could not really place it into my lab coat as it would be heavy. I personally rarely wear a lab coat theses days. Not many people keep it on them anyway, even the pocket edition, which is why I chose to get the deluxe edition.

It is just as fast to retrieve information as with a smart phone app and the book has more information
Lots of information in a pocket guide. I have been using the latest edition of this book for over 10 years. It is just as fast to retrieve information as with a smart phone app and the book has more information.

Index not helpful
Normally a concise reference that I use very frequently but this edition has an index that has me thinking of looking for something else. I go to look up a drug and there are multiple pages listed with no indication which is the main entry and not a brief reference under another drug.
