All of Bedell's wood is harvested sustainably, but this Blackbird Vegan Parlor goes one step further by offering 100% American harvested wood and a salvaged sitka spruce top. The sides and back are western bigleaf maple, a sturdy wood with a crisp and powerful voice. The fretboard, bridge, bridge pins and peghead overlay are all made from walnut. All of this wood was acquired ethically and sustainably, fully compliant with CITES, the Lacey Act and Bedell's own Tonewood Certification Project. Also, vegan is meant to be taken literally here: no animal products were used to build this instrument. This acoustic has an unobtrusive but effective pickup system made by K&K Sound of Coos Bay, Oregon.
