Hanji Unfurled: One Journey into Korean Papermaking Hardcover – October 28, 2012

This book I purchased because of my interest in Korean arts and crafts. Ms Lee has written a book way beyond just the narrow speciality of the traditional arts and crafts of Korean. This book encompasses a very clear positioning of paper in the history of Korea and indeed internationally. She also is able to make clear the sometimes complex porcesses of paper making but also includes personal anecdotes about her time with the hanji makers and artists. I thoughly recommend this book, not just as a comprehensive work on hanji but also a comprehensive work on Korean life.

A wonderful book about a great craft. I was looking for a specific technique. Jiseung, paper cord. The illustrations are great and descriptions of Korean papermaking instructive. You can't help but share the author's excitement and experiences in researching Hanji papermaking... and much more.

What a wonderful book. There's not many books on papermaking and hanji but this one is really worth reading.
