I installed it but it doesn't pump water from our canal which is roughly 150 yards from the pump. Is it too small?

I have the same situation out of a pond with no problem. did you fully prime the pump? you could be sucking air some where in your piping or your pickup screen is full of mud packed solid. I think it is a great pump.

The pump will only build pressure to 30 pounds. What's up with that?

I'd like to know myself ! Flow is excellent but if pump runs with all valves shut - pump will not exceed 30 psi as you say. I wonder if there's some sort of internal "spring safety valve" that pops open when 30 psi pressure is reached and then water just free-flows around inside pump ? My "new" set-up shuts power off to pump at end of final sprinkler zone whereas before the increased pressure would do this when last zone ended. Very odd. I might call Gould to get explanation. Been tied up with other things - as are we all !

Trying to use this pump for irrigating greenhouse, will it work with 15 psi irrigation tapes? will installing pressure regulator cause back pressure?

Hello, on demand is dependent on the irrigation controller and solenoid valves. This pump can work with with those components. Good pump and fair price!

So far so good. Fairly easy to install and have had it in operation going on two weeks. Quiet. Plenty of pressure to meet the demand (two zones four 30'-40' rotary heads seven 15'-20' fan heads in one zone and five 30'-40' rotary heads seven 15'-20' fan heads in the other). Friendly and informed staff at Goulds (I consulted with their rep concerning the correct model to replace my old pump and within 20 minutes of matching the specifications of each they provided me with the proper fitment. Time will tell as to it's longevity so I'll try to repost as time goes by.

Gould GT10 Pump 1 hp

Works fine. Only complaint is my own fault for thinking domestic manufacture when in fact motor from China and no name plate on pump housing itself. "Built in America" label means China motor was bolted to pump housing with 4 bolts by someone here in USA. Only time will tell how good or bad quality is. My last Gould pump lasted 27 years. Hope this one does too. Bob

Same high quality as 20:years ago!

Replaced a GT10 that was here when we bought the property, which was the victim of a failed anti backflow device that shed plastic parts into the impeller of the GT10. Buying a new pump versus a rebuild kit seemed warranted given the buildup of mineral deposits and the value already delivered. New pump fits into same footprints as old, and could have used the original galvanized pipe, but replaced that as well due to same mineral deposits and low cost after 20 years of service.
